Quick and relatively painlessSteven, US, 06 11 19

The staff was very helpful and professional and Eric shepherded me along the process. The unexpected root canal performed by Dr German Gastelum was quick and relatively painless. My crown was installed by Dr Carolina Vazquez along with 2 partial dentures and I'm able to eat anything now that I have a "full set of teeth". The process to cross/recross the USA/Mexico border on foot was easier than expected and the Revolution Dental Care office was a short Taxi ride. Unexpectedly, the taxi fare was reimbursed. I estimate my savings at more than 50%. Insurance submittal forms were also provided.

I chose this clinic because of there excellent reviews and because they have an in house lab so could get the permanent crowns done in 24 hours.

Dental radiographs, commonly referred to as X-ray films, or informally, X-rays, are pictures of the teeth, bones, and surrounding soft tissues to screen for and help identify problems with the teeth, mouth, and jaw. X-ray pictures can show cavities, cancerous or benign masses, hidden dental structures (such as wisdom teeth), and bone loss that cannot be seen during a visual examination. Dental X-rays may also be done as follow-up after dental treatments.
Traditional Dental X-Ray $10 - $20
What are the benefits of a dental radiograph examination? Many diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissues cannot be seen during a routine visual examination of your mouth. An x-ray examination may reveal: small areas of decay between the teeth or below existing restorations (fillings)infections in the bone periodontal (gum) disease in the form of reduced bone levels around the teeth abscesses or cysts developmental abnormalitiessome types of tumors Finding and treating dental problems at an early stage can save time, money and unnecessary  discomfort. If you have a hidden tumor, radiographs may even help save your life. There are two types of radiographs that me taken: intra-oral and extra-oral. The intraoral x-rays are the most commonly known type that involve the placement of the small films inside the mouth, and provide the most detail andaccuracy of small areas at a time. The extraoral films are larger, and take a more overall view of the teeth and jaws. The most common extraoral film is the panoramic x-ray which is taken by a unit that spins around the patients head and  produces a complete survey of the teeth and upper & lower jawbones.

Dental x-rays are critical for many reasons. They allow a dentist to detect tooth decay, abscessed or impacted teeth, and simply overall tooth density and health of current fillings, crowns, etc. They can also indicate if someone is in the early stages of gum disease and can help a dentist take preventative measures in addressing the problem.Digital x-rays are one of the newest and most innovative forms of x-ray imaging. This is an alternative to traditional photographic film used for x-ray purposes. There are many advantages to this alternative procedure, especially in the field of dentistry. One main advantage is that there is less radiation exposure to the patient. Another advantage is simply the efficiency in transferring and enhancing images, which makes it easier to go over with the results with the patient.Digital dental x-rays are an important innovation that has led the way for safer and more efficient preventative dental care.
Dental X-Ray
Dental X-ray examinations provide valuable information that helps your dentist evaluate your oral health. With the help of radiographs (the term for pictures taken with X-rays), your dentist can look at what is happening beneath the surface of your teeth and gums. If you have questions about your dental X-ray exam, talk with your dentist.
Digital Panoramic Dental X-Ray from $50
A panoramic x-ray requires a special machine that rotates around the head. The x-ray captures the entire jaws and teeth in one shot. It is used to plan treatment for dental implants, check for impacted wisdom teeth, and detect jaw problems. A panoramic x-ray is not good for detecting cavities, unless the decay is very advanced and deep.In addition, many dentists are taking x-rays using digital technology. The image runs through a computer. The amount of radiation transmitted during the procedure is less than traditional methods

I was very happy with the cleanliness and attention to detailCaterina, US, 05 03 21

I had all the metal taken out of my mouth and a bridge put in. It was alot of work so the treatment was broken up into 2 days to make it easier on my jaw muscles. When he put the bridge in the colour was slightly off so they matched it while it was in, then took it back to finish the rest. I was very happy with the cleanliness and attention to detail. Communication was clear before and after treatment. I was especially grateful for all the help with getting a covid test, food suggestions, transportation to and from the airport, not just the appointments. They even have a video monitoring system inside the vehicle in case you're still loopy from anesthesia. VERY PROFESSIONAL!

I saw the results for their work in just one week, I was completely overwhelmedChristopher, US, 08 02 20

I have only written one or two reviews in my life (one was a negative experience with a kayaking company in South Africa). I am doing this review because I have been totally blown away with an experience at Cancun Dental Specialists just last week. It may sound dumb, but I want as many people to hear about this as possible. I start with an experience three years ago. I went to a dentist in Salt Lake City that specializes in All-on-Four fixed dentures. My teeth were a mess and I wanted to get a professional consultation. The oral surgeon did all the Xray stuff and then sat me down for his expert opinion. Great news, he could help me and recommended a fixed denture, All-on-Four procedure. The cost: $45,000! Needless to say, I quickly lost any interest. Somehow I had heard of dental tourism. My first thought was, "Dental work in Mexico? Really?" I probed deeper into the subject. The more I researched the topic the more I found satisfied patients, excellent reviews and what appeared to be professional clinics in Mexico. Moreover, a spokesperson for the American Dental Association said on NPR that there are many fine dentists in Mexico, but, like anything else, you have to do your homework to get to the right people. I looked at clinics in Tijuana, Algodones, Costa Rica and Cancun. I became very interested in Cancun Dental Specialists for several reasons: The clinic owner did her advanced dental studies in restorative dentistry at the University of Michigan (one of the top three dental schools in the U.S.) I spoke or electronically communicated to several people who had gone there and questioned them about their experience - everyone had good things to say -The dentists have excellent credentials with continuing education in the USA and lots of experience under their belt -They had state of the art equipment, their own lab that worked 24/7 -They are the largest user in all Mexico of Nobel Biocare implant hardware -They all speak good English -Dental coordinators pull it all together, hassle-free -English-speaking drivers to transport you to and from appointments and the airport -The pricing was jaw-dropping low (pun intended) They seemed to have all the right ingredients for me to pull the trigger and let them do my dental work. I called and spoke with a dental coordinator and we set an appointment. And, I had never been to Cancun and had heard nothing but great things about the beaches and the water! Important: After my 3D scan/x-ray, I met with Dr Lugo, the clinic's oral surgeon. He told me I was not a candidate for an All-on-Four procedure. I had excellent roots and strong bone structure. Quite the opposite of the U.S. "professional" three years ago. Instead, they recommended a Full Mouth Restoration. This would mean more work and less money for them than an All-on-Four. I call my trip to Cancun, "The Agony and the Ecstasy." I hate being in any dental chair - USA or Cancun! It is agony. However, when I saw the results for their work in just one week, I was completely overwhelmed. It was pure ecstasy! And the price? 40% of what I would have paid in the United States. Check out the "Before and After" shots. Cancun Dental Specialists is the real deal. I am spreading the word to all my family and friends. Cancun is safe, the work is professional, and, the price tag is lower than whale dung at the bottom of the ocean! (Note: You might see this on other review platforms because I am determined to get the news out to the many people in the United States and Canada that desperately need serious dental work, but cannot afford the astronomical price tag.) I highly recommend this office and will be back for treatmentTom, Mexico, 19 08 19

I had a cleaning and a full mouth exam. What a wonderful experience. Very professional and pleasant staff. Honestly, I thought this would be a good starting point to get to know them. Everything they found was thoroughly explained. Costs and timing were reviewed with me with no pressure at all. I got an email by day end with a treatment plan, x-ray copies and costs per tooth. Costs came out to be 1/3 to 1/4 of the US prices I was quoted. Cleaning was painless and very professional. I highly recommend this office and will be back for treatment. I just did not have enough time on this trip to complete any more treatment.
