What are Lingual Braces?

Lingual braces are braces placed on the inner side or the tongue side of teeth. They are the most invisible among braces. They are often used as a brace option for adult and adolescent patients. They are also a good option for patients who take part in contact sports. It takes two to three hours to fit lingual braces.

How long should I wear Lingual Braces?

Patients need to wear lingual braces for from one to four years. The length of time depends on the unique requirements of each individual patient.

Is getting Lingual Braces fitted painful?

Fitting lingual braces is not painful. Patients may feel pain or discomfort until they get used to wearing lingual braces. Getting adjusted to lingual braces may take a week or ten days. Pain killers are prescribed to make adjustment easy.

How are Lingual Braces fitted?

An impression of the teeth of patients is taken and customized brackets are fabricated. The brackets are glued on the inner surface of teeth and wires are woven through the brackets and secured. The braces work by exerting pressure on teeth and moving them to the correct position.

What care is required after fitting Lingual Braces?

Patients should take the prescribed medications correctly. They should attend orthodontist appointments correctly and get their braces adjusted. They should avoid eating hard food products. They should practice correct dental hygiene and brush and floss their teeth regularly.

Aguilera Laser Dental

(888) 848-7639 ext: 24865 1125 Miguel Aleman Street, Reynosa, 88500
Rating from 7 Reviews I was very happy with and rest on another appointment.Oregon21, US, 23 Jan 14

I can say I would absolutely recommend Dr. Aguilera, he is fantastic. I had some fillings done the same day as my consultant which I was very happy with and rest on another appointment. I was kinda scared for few reasons; 1) it is Mexico, 2) I fear the needle (which he was great I didn't feel anything), 3) my fillings failing from not being done correctly. I had been quoted pretty high in Oregon where I live, but he had a reasonable price that I couldn't not pass for not having dental insurance. I work as a dental assistant myself and looking around I felt the great comfort seeing that he uses the same materials as my office does and his awesome inter oral camera. Dr. Aguilera speaks English very well which helped me understand much more. He also helped me learn the correct dental words in Spanish to help me with my patients. I can also say his staff is great very nice. I had my dental work done and haven't had any problems. Thank you Dr. Aguilera :)

Luviano Ortodoncia

(888) 848-7639 ext: 91094 Av. Moctezuma No. 934, Ensenada, 22800
We are a dental Clinica specialized exclusively in Orthodontics with 35 years of experience, with a constant up to date and  training, to give our patients the best service and the better way to treat them. Orthodontics is not limited only to the aligning of the teeth, its objectives go far beyond. Orthodontics seeks facial harmony, dental esthetics, occlusive functionality, and a healthy temporomandibular junction (TMJ) and surrounding tissues. A general dentist does not have the training to reach all of these objectives that Orthodondics seek. That is why special training and preparation is needed in Orthodontics in recognized universities. A proper diagnosis is the cornerstone of all orthodontic treatment, it is the equivalent of blueprints for an architect about to build a house. No patient should be treated without first performing all of the proper and necessary diagnostic tests. With a proper diagnosis we can know the real dimension of the maloclussion, dental problem, its site, origin and the best way of treating it. The risks of beginning a treatment without the proper means of diagnosis or the lack of specialty training are many, including: excess length of treatment, bone loss, radicular reabsorptions, loss of dental pieces, TMJ dysfunction, and even compromising esthetic facial, dental and smile alignment which can affect facial harmony. If you are thinking of beginning a treatment, research the preparation and certification of your doctor. Cost is not al

Lingual Braces
Lingual braces (examples of which are Harmony, SureSmile QT, Incognito Braces) are custom made fixed braces bonded to the back of the teeth making them invisible to other people. In lingual braces the brackets are cemented onto the backside of the teeth making them invisible while in standard braces the brackets are cemented onto the front side of the teeth. Hence, lingual braces are a cosmetic alternative to those who do not wish the braces to be visible.
Braces
Dental braces (also known as orthodontic braces, or simply braces) are devices used in orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help to position them with regard to a persons bite, while also working to improve dental health. They are often used to correct underbites, as well as malocclusions, overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces or orthodontic braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jaws and to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.
Metal Braces
Traditional metal wired braces are stainless steel and are sometimes used in combination with titanium. Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces. These braces have a metal bracket with elastic (rubber band) ties holding the wire onto the metal brackets. The second most common type of braces are self ligating braces that do not require the need of elastic ties. Instead, the wire goes through the bracket. Often with this type of braces, treatment time is reduced, there is less pain on the teeth, and requires less adjustments than traditional braces.
