Ocean Dental Cancún - U.S Board Certified Dentist

(805) 465-6061 Blvd Kukulcan KM 12.7 Zona hotelera, Cancun, 77500
Rating from 115 Reviews very pleased and impressed by my experienceJudy, Canada, 12 Mar 17

I had booked an oral evaluation at Ocean Dental while my husband and I were vacationing in Mexico, ending up in Cancun. I had been communicating with Carlos who was always prompt to reply and gave clear and detailed responses to my inquiries. We even chatted a couple of time on the phone on a toll free number. I knew I had six front teeth with composite veneers in the front that were starting to break down. This was complicated by white fillings in the back of most of them. Back home I had been told that the best procedure would be to crown all the teeth at a cost of about $1500/tooth. I have a dental plan but even though it's the "enhanced" plan - covers only $2000/ Year for crowns. The clinic send a van to pick me up at my hotel ( which is routine). My appt. was for 9:30am and the van arrived just after 9:00am with one passenger . We stopped to pick up two more people who came by ferry from Isla Muejeres where they were staying. Both parties were extremely happy with the work done and especially the cost ( one from Alberta and one from Wisconsin).By the time I got to the clinic , registered, and waited a bit for my name to be called it was probably about 10:30am. You should be prepared for waiting somewhat as it's a busy clinic and the waiting room was quite full. Despite having to wait ( some people seemed put out by it - unfortunately - this is Mexico, not the U.S. Or Canada) there was never any trace of anxiety or rushing - everyone in the clinic was relaxed and friendly. A client had brought a big bag of chocolates and patients and staff were helping themselves, laughing and joking. I was called and taken to be ex-rayed by a young man who's name I can't recall and when I asked questions he got someone else to come to answer them as his English wasn't too good. I had some 360 degree ex-rays done then went to see a young woman who did a thorough oral exam with photos and a couple more close-up exrays. She spoke English quite well and was very approachable and explained what she saw or answered questions. I felt like I was in good hands. Finally " Dr. Irma" came in and after consulting with the girl said she agreed that six crowns should be put in the front and two on the bottom pre- molars. She was also very easy to talk to and caring. I then went to see Maggie who wrote up the estimate - very thorough and knowledgeable as well as offering suggestions when I asked about a Beach to go to. The van dropped us off there instead of taking us back to where we were staying. In all the examination took over an hour and I paid $60 U. S. For it which will be deducted from the cost when the work is completed. The estimate for the eight crowns came to about $3700 Canadian and I was told to set aside a week for the work to be done ( it's better to have more time on the end in case some adjustments or "hotspots" need to be addressed). Maggie made the estimate good for a year and molds were taken of the teeth before I left. I was Very, very pleased and impressed by my experience and any nervousness I had was calmed by listening to others' experiences and seeing the clinic in action ( state of the art equipment). Why not get dental work done and save bundles while taking a vacation in Mexico?

Dr. Alejandro Benitez Dental Clinic

227 Avenida Benito Juarez, Nuevo Progreso, 88810
Rating from 84 Reviews The professionalism of this clinic is beyond comparison.Dennis, US, 10 Jan 17

After loosing my front tooth due to a football injury, it finally died and started to turn dark. No pain, but Castle Dental recommended removal. The prosthetic took 3 weeks to make and was uncomfortable. I broke the first one, lost the second and finally accepted the fact that I needed a permanent fix. Had my molars removed too and the " specialist " left bone pieces that I removed myself. Pain!!! Dr. Alex recommended 4 posts to start. He installed all four in 2 sessions (days) and my "flipper" was ready by the time I had a margarita at the TEXAS Bar with Frank. The prosthetic he made was much more comfortable and realistic. You cannot go wrong with Dr. Benitez The professionalism of this clinic is beyond comparison. Abby and Anna are the epitome of grace, good nature and compassion. I was treated respectfully and felt special with all the staff. Dr. Benitez, however, is the dentist of my dreams. Compassionate, gentle, focused, and exact. Down to the millimeter. Such a personable professional is rare indeed. I highly recommend his services and can guarantee satisfaction will be achieved. Thanks Doc and Ladies. See you soon.

Rating from 26 Reviews You are promptly seen and attended to at your scheduled timeScott, US, 16 Dec 17

Dental partials. This is a no-nonsense professional dentist. She performs only the work necessary and doesn't try to sell you unnecessary services (unlike the US.A). You are promptly seen and attended to at your scheduled time (also unlike the U.S.A). My work was performed at about 20% of the cost I would have paid for in Florida. Thank You (gracias) Doctor Luz Marely Garcia Alvarez!

Rating from 37 Reviews They are very efficient and make sure that that the work is done 100%Jerry, US, 27 Nov 17

Went in on my sister's recommendation. I could not be happier with the work! Very professional staff that walked me through each step of the process. They are very efficient and make sure that that the work is done 100%. They had to send my crowns back to the lab for proper shaping and they stayed open late to make sure I left happy. Will definitely use them again for any treatment me or my family require.

3-Unit Bridge $450 - $1200
A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture, is a dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.Types of bridges may vary, depending upon how they are fabricated and the way they anchor to the adjacent teeth. Conventionally, bridges are made using the indirect method of restoration. However, bridges can be fabricated directly in the mouth using such materials as composite resin.A bridge is fabricated by reducing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth by a preparation pattern determined by the location of the teeth and by the material from which the bridge is fabricated. In other words, the abutment teeth are reduced in size to accommodate the material to be used to restore the size and shape of the original teeth in a correct alignment and contact with the opposing teeth. The dimensions of the bridge are defined by Antes Law: "The root surface area of the abutment teeth has to equal or surpass that of the teeth being replaced with pontics".[1]The materials used for the bridges include gold, porcelain fused to metal, or in the correct situation porcelain alone. The amount and type of reduction done to the abutment teeth varies slightly with the different materials used. The recipient of such a bridge must be careful to clean well under this prosthesis. When restoring an edentulous space with a fixed partial denture that will crown the teeth adjacent to the space and bridge the gap with a pontic, or "dummy tooth", the restoration is referred to as a bridge. Besides all of the preceding information that concerns single-unit crowns, bridges possess a few additional considerations when it comes to case selection and treatment planning, tooth preparation and restoration fabrication.
Permanent Bridge $450 - $1200
Dental bridges are false teeth, which are anchored onto neighbouring teeth in order to replace one or more . The false tooth is known as a pontic and is fused in between   that serve as anchors by attaching to the teeth on each side of the false tooth, thereby bridging them together.
Temporary Bridge free
During the first visit for getting a dental bridge, the abutment teeth are prepared. Preparation involves recontouring these teeth by removing a portion of enamel to allow room for a crown to be placed over them. Next, impressions of your teeth are made, which serve as a model from which the bridge, pontic, and crowns will be made by a dental laboratory. Your dentist will make a temporary bridge for you to wear to protect the exposed teeth and gums while your bridge is being made.During the second visit, your temporary bridge will be removed and the new permanent bridge will be checked and adjusted, as necessary, to achieve a proper fit. Multiple visits may be required to check the fit of the metal framework and bite. This is dependent on each individuals case. If the dental bridge is a fixed (permanent) bridge, your dentist may temporarily cement it in place for a couple of weeks to make sure it is fitting properly. After a couple weeks, the bridge is permanently cemented into place.
