The cost of my last visit to a local dentist was so shocking to me that I went straight home and hopped on the computer, Destination Tijuana! Thank God, it led us to:
Dr Juan Funes of FunesSmile.com. The man is an artist. He transformed 15 of my teeth into nice, clean, straight, unchipped teeth that I wholeheartedly believe will last the rest of my life. He placed fifteen crowns in my mouth overall—5 implants, 2 root canals, and all 8 top front teeth—in one day, for a third of what the locals wanted to charge for less work. And I had salad AND steak that night! The field of dentistry now uses 3D printing for crowns, so that helped a lot with the fit no doubt, but I also know it could’ve gone way differently if he wasn’t so GOOD at what he does! It’s been a week today and I have never had pain or discomfort. I like how we (my husband and I) were pretty much THE patients in the office each of the two weeks we’ve been. A couple of days were 3 and 4-hour visits, during which time the whole staff was involved or very nearby. I have never in my life felt so considered and cared for in a dr office. From the moment we were picked up at the San Diego airport til the moment our driver whisked us past a 3-hour wait to get back out of Mexico (If Luis mentions needing a $40 medical pass say Yes! Trust me.)

After researching treatment in many dental clinics in the US and other countries, I came across Funesmile. That one time is where my dental transformation journey began.


Thanks to Luis, he never gave up on me, he knew I had great fear, I'd had so many prior bad experiences. He provided all the information I needed and was very transparent, no hype or false promises, superb value. I had prayed for a miracle, and I got it, in the form of Funesmiles highly skilled and professional team. I had horrible dental issues, I thought my only solution would be the dreaded dentures. From my first appointment, I knew I had made the right decision. I immediately asked my husband be treated as well. He is very happy with his results as well. Ana and Stephanie are professional, both so in sync with each other and Dr. Funes, friendly and immediately made me comfortable. Never any judgement. Dr. Funes is a true miracle worker, his expertise is stellar. Such attention to detail, fabulous! He takes great pride in his work. I never experienced any pain, he explained the process at every appointment. The results were stunning, absolutely beautiful. I had implants and crowns, far exceeded any expectation I ever dreamed. I love my teeth, I get so many compliments, many double takes!! I cannot stop admiring my beautiful teeth, if there's a mirror, I'll be in front of it. What a confidence booster. It was absolutely worth it, everyone's situation is different, but know that it's well worth it. I can't stress enough Dr. Fune's fabulous work.

The entire dental team go above and beyond for every patient, don't over think it. We are now patients for life. The process and results are truly life-changing. I can't put a price on that, and the health benefits as well. As Luis said...I struck gold when I first contacted Funesmile! My only regret is having waited so long.

I broke my two front teeth, and my whole mouth was failing due to gum loss. I took a chance and called Dr. Funes. He looked at my X-rays and suggested a full mouth restoration. I was afraid it might be a scam, but it was not. total professional expert dentist.

Amazing staff and a patient adviser, Luis, guides you through it all. And they all spoke English, as I speak no Spanish. It was an amazing experience. Dr. Funes cares about his patients, and he’s got 34 years in dentistry. Clean and professional—100 per cent. Thank you, Dr. Funes, Luis, and staff!

The first day I went to Dr. Funes it was a good vibe, he made me feel welcome and secure with the type of work he recommended me to have; I highly recommend this clinic for any dental work, the staff really make you feel at home they are really professional and friendly.

I had a full mouth restoration to restore my bite and smile. Much much less expensive than the cost in the U.S.! Dr. Funes and his staff was great. No complaints whatsoever and would recommend to anyone in a second.

Well, I’m headed back to The Airport now and honestly don’t want to leave Dr. Funes and his amazing and wonderful staff.

I’ve been putting off my dental work for about 20 years. I’ve been in pain, needing teeth pulled. I had gum disease, missing teeth, broken teeth and gaps all over.

Finally, I decided it was time to take care of my mouth. I flew into San Diego on Sunday night. They had a driver waiting for me, he took me to the Marriott hotel in TJ About 1/2 mile from the office. Monday was X-rays and impressions, Tuesday they extracted 8 bottom teeth and installed 5 implants, Wednesday they pulled all my top teeth, did the bone graft and installed 6 more implants. I honestly have not experienced any pain thus far and I’m headed home with a big smile. I’m just wearing dentures they gave me but they look better than my smile ever did.

Man I can’t wait to come back for my crowns and full mouth restoration. What a wonderful experience.

This is the Best Dentist I have ever had... I feel so thankful to have found this excellent Dentist & his assistants they are all great they really care about you. I had a tremendous experience with Dr. Funes. He was courteous, extremely professional, precise and skilful. I needed to have two implants for two broken molars. In the implant procedure, he took his time during the injection, so I felt nothing but the initial needle prick. Three months later, when I returned to have the molars implanted, he was exceptionally diligent at getting the new molars to fit exactly.

My new teeth work perfectly and are unrecognizable from my other teeth.
I would recommend Dr. Funis to anyone who needs teeth implants. (BTW, going back and forth across the border, from San Ysidro to Tijuana, is easy and fast.)

In January of this year (2023), I started looking into the possibility of getting a full mouth restoration of my teeth. I contacted several clinics within California and found even the All on Four cost to be very expensive.

The All on Six was significantly more expensive. At the age of 76, I wondered if I wanted to incur such a large expense. I decided that I would investigate the cost of the same procedures in Mexico and other countries south of our border. I found several clinics that had excellent reviews of which Funesmile ended up on my short list. I finally decided on Funesmile clinic in Tijuana Mexico and my adventure began.

I had been in constant communication with their contact person, Luis Mares, who was terrific in making every part of the process as pleasant as possible. In addition, Dr. Funes was great from his concern on the medication I was taking to make sure they would not cause any issues during the surgery to making sure that the product was not only to my satisfaction but to his high standards. Dr Funes also required me to have an electrocardiogram done before to make sure my heart was strong enough for the procedure. There was a doctor on site that was able to perform the test and I made it through with flying colors. Dr. Funes’ assistants, Anna and Fani were also very professional and added to making the entire process more pleasant.

It is now a month since the completion of my full mouth replacement and I am adjusting to the new teeth more and more as the days pass. I wanted to give it at least 2 months of an adjustment period before I decided to see if I need an adjustment or not. I can finally bite into fruit, enjoy a nice steak and can chew my food the way I have wanted to for many years. In the final analysis, I am happy I had the procedure done and if I were faced with the decision of doing it all over again, I would definitely have it done with Dr. Funes and his staff.

First please note that I am a chicken when it comes to the dental chair and I have an easy gag reflex, but I felt comfortable the entire time. I had a root canal done starting in January for the root removal then once it was all healed I came back this month (July) for the rest. All the staff is kind and attentive and I recommend seeing Dr. Funes for all types of dental work.

PS. I traveled from upstate NY on the recommendation of a friend and I would do it again. This is one dental chair I do not fear.
