Ocean Dental Cancún - U.S Board Certified Dentist - Dental Clinic in MexicoFeatured
Rating from 115 Reviews I received great treatment and actually got my life backLori, Washington D.C., 24 Feb 17

In November/December 2016 I had extensive work done at Ocean Dental in Cancun, Mexico. I can also tell you that this is a very reputable and experienced dental office. I received great treatment and actually got my life back. For 35 some years I had trained myself to smile a certain way because I was so ashamed of my teeth. I had stains on all of my teeth. I had 16 teeth replaced with Zirconium crowns. Originally I scheduled for 12 teeth. After placing the crowns, my old crows looked horrible. I had 4 crowns removed and replaced with new crowns. Some teeth required crown lengthening. I am heading back in late May 2017 to have the remaining crowns replaced. Also my daughter is traveling with me for veneers. Now, I can't stop smiling and all because of Ocean Dental. I met Dr. Gavaldon and Dr. Cindell performed my work. Dr. Galvaldon checked in periodically to make certain all was going well. I have never experienced such great treatment at a dentist's office in my life. Their offices are top notch and their staff (I'm speaking of the financial dept., receptionist, and Drs.) go above and beyond. I am so happy with their work that I will be returning every year for a check up and cleaning. I want the dental office who gave me such a great smile to service it each year. Paying a local dentist in Silver Spring Maryland for this work would have been impossible, and was the reason I waited so long to have the work done. BTW, Ocean Dental's offices are filled with Americans and Canadians having every type of dental procedure. At the office (I was in Cancun for 10 days in November) you meet and see the same people over and over while they are waiting for their work, and naturally you talk to one another. I met people from all over the United Stated from every walk of life. Some were on a budget, some had money and wanted to keep their money, young, old, and working professionals. Many people had been coming to Ocean Dental for years to complete their dental plan and some had given up their back home dentist and returned yearly for a check up and cleaning.

Rating from 37 Reviews So thrilled with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the staffDeborah, US, 09 Jan 18

Hi, my boyfriend, had some implants and other work done there almost a year ago and we were THRILLED with the results. He's been meaning to do a formal review but he keeps forgetting, putting it off. Anyway, I was thinking I have before and after pictures that I can provide so here, they are! He was (we are) so thrilled with the quality of the work, the cleanliness of the office, the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff and Dr. Coto and the fact that it was so affordable for him to have this work done is beyond words! He was quoted no less than $15k for what Dr. Coto did for less than $5k!! The work he had done was something he had thought he'd NEVER be able to afford but YOU made it possible and we are forever grateful and thankful to have found you! Thank you and God bless!! Amazing! Top-notch! For those who question the professionalism and quality of the work done here, compared to the level of professionalism that exists in the U.S., I say only one word - DON'T. There is ZERO difference!

Rating from 39 Reviews Did an extremely magnificent job with my mouth, I finally have the smile I've always wantedEdward, US, 01 Oct 18

I first spoke to Dr Gadea and his staff in August about doing a whole mouth restoration. I needed quite a bit of dental work and was extremely nervous about coming down to Costa Rica from Long Island, New York. However, after talking to a former patient who was a friend's friend I decided to make the trip down. I emailed all my X-rays and scans down and we set up an immediate appointment for September 3 2018. Dr Gadea did a fabulous job at the price he quoted me. I couldn't be happier. I chose Costa Rica Dental because the prices I got in Florida and New York was beyond what I could afford. Dr Gadea did an extremely magnificent job with my mouth, I finally have the smile I've always wanted. The staff were very helpful answering any and all questions I had. The office was nicer than my old dentist back home, my wife came along for the trip down also and ended up having some dental work done as well. Thank you to Dr Gadea and the staff.

I went to dental experts to get 1 root canal and 2 permanent bridges. Dr. Antillon was very professional, great clinic. My experience was very good. Dr. Antillon called me 1 day after I contacted him and told me the options for my treatment and explained it would take only 5 days to finish, as well as the price which was fair. I saved a lot of time and money. This clinic is first class.

Dental Office Puerto Vallarta - Dra Lety Armas Featured

Dental Office Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Rating from 31 Reviews I have not had any issues and don't expect I willMrs_Charlene, Canada, 03 Apr 18

I had major dental work done on several occasions in Canada at a cost of well over 50K. Each time the work failed, so I found myself back at a periodontist now having to resort to dental implants. I had one done at a cost of 6K and so far, all is well. I knew it was inevitable that I would need several more implants. I was sharing my story with a friend, she told me that she and her husband had been having their dental work done in Mexico for years due to the quality and at a fraction of what it costs in Canada. My first reaction was "are you kidding me"! My husband and I then did a bit of research online, reading various reviews and testimonies of others from Canada and the US that had work done in Mexico. We did not see one negative comment. We soon discovered other friends and friends of friends also had their work done in Mexico. They were very pleased with the outcome and the cost. We wanted to have the work done in Puerto Vallarta, as we generally travel there once a year for vacation. We called a couple clinics and chose the one we did because they were prompt to contact us. The office Manager spoke very good English so language was not a barrier. My treatment is ongoing but on my first trip (with treatment over three days) I had 10 implants, 6 extractions and 6 root canals. The cost of 10 implants alone in Canada would have been 60K. We chose Dr Leticia Armas Tejeda's clinic located at Plaza Marina because of the quick response to our inquiry and the fact that Jose, the Office Manager, spoke very good English. We communicated via text and email without any difficulty. I was picked up at the Hotel by Jose and taken to the clinic where I met Dr Leticia who is lovely. A major plus for this clinic is Dr Karen. She too speaks amazing English and was so very helpful and caring. You can imagine how nervous I was but she was with me through each treatment explaining what was going on. They have a team of specialists doing each procedure. She even went as far as to go to the pharmacy with us, to make sure we got what we needed because we only speak Poquito Spanish. I will return on the 31st of October 2018, to have the crowns and bridges completed. Dr Karen keeps in touch getting updates on how I am doing. I have not had any issues and don't expect I will.

Rating from 38 Reviews They are very efficient and make sure that that the work is done 100%Jerry, US, 27 Nov 17

Went in on my sister's recommendation. I could not be happier with the work! Very professional staff that walked me through each step of the process. They are very efficient and make sure that that the work is done 100%. They had to send my crowns back to the lab for proper shaping and they stayed open late to make sure I left happy. Will definitely use them again for any treatment me or my family require.

Temporary Crown $30 - $50
A temporary crown is a provisional, short term restoration used in dentistry. Usually the temporary crown is constructed from a chemical-cure composite, although alternative systems using aluminium crown forms are occasionally used by practitioners. The temporary material is shaped by the dentist to form a tooth shape that protects the prepared tooth, prevents damage to the periodontal tissues (gums) and disguises the prepared tooth to a degree until the final, definitive restoration can be made by a dental technician.A temporary crown will usually be cemented in place with a soft temporary dental cement, such as Temp-Bond NE. This allows easy removal when fitting the definitve restoration. If a temporary crown becomes decemented, it is important that a dentist examine the patient as overeruption of the opposing teeth may prevent accurate fitting of the final crown.
Dental Crowns $150 - $400
A dental crown is a cap-like restoration used to cover a damaged tooth. Crowns can give support to misshapen or badly broken teeth and permanently replace missing teeth to complete a smile or improve a bite pattern. They may be molded from metal, ceramic, plastics, or combinations of all three. They are cemented in place and coated to make them more natural looking. Historically, a variety of materials have been used as tooth replacements. The ancient Egyptians used animal teeth and pieces of bone as primitive replacement materials. More recently, artificial teeth have been fabricated from substances such as ivory, porcelain, and even platinum. With modern technology, high quality tooth replacements can be made from synthetic plastic resins, ceramic composites, and lightweight metal alloys.
Permanent Crown $150 - $450
Permanent crowns can be made from all metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, all resin, or all ceramic.Metals used in crowns include gold alloy, other alloys (for example, palladium) or a base-metal alloy (for example, nickel or chromium). Compared with other crown types, less tooth structure needs to be removed with metal crowns, and tooth wear to opposing teeth is kept to a minimum. Metal crowns withstand biting and chewing forces well and probably last the longest in terms of wear down. Also, metal crowns rarely chip or break. The metallic color is the main drawback. Metal crowns are a good choice for out-of-sight molars.Porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns can be color matched to your adjacent teeth (unlike the metallic crowns). However, more wearing to the opposing teeth occurs with this crown type compared with metal or resin crowns. The crowns porcelain portion can also chip or break off. Next to all-ceramic crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns look most like normal teeth. However, sometimes the metal underlying the crowns porcelain can show through as a dark line, especially at the gum line and even more so if your gums recede. These crowns can be a good choice for front or back teeth.All-resin dental crowns are less expensive than other crown types. However, they wear down over time and are more prone to fractures than porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns.All-ceramic or all-porcelain dental crowns provide the best natural color match than any other crown type and may be more suitable for people with metal allergies. However, they are not as strong as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and they wear down opposing teeth a little more than metal or resin crowns. All-ceramic crowns are a good choice for front teeth.Temporary versus permanent. Temporary crowns can be made in your dentists office whereas permanent crowns are made in a dental laboratory.

I have had 2 appointments with Dr Diana. First to whiten my teeth. I've had several other dentists in the US that said my teeth could not be whitened because I had too many pocelain fillings. She was successful in whitening them! 2nd appointment to was for 3 porcelain fillings. Very impressed with her work; I will return to her for any further dental work. Wonderful! I would not go to anyone else!
