Rating from 115 Reviews Such a beautiful place to venture while getting your teeth professionally doneAlejandra, Canada, 29 Jul 18

I got into a motorcycle accident a year ago and came in with an implant on my lateral tooth and 2 semi-failed gum surgeries in that area. The implant was not one they were familiar with but they successfully managed to make it work. They were able to fix the majority of my gums with another gum graft. Will probably need one more gum surgery from them to perfect the job. I came in with a lot of bone missing. I also got 5 crowns that were made in the clinic within 2 days, which I got to edit a bunch of times waiting 15 minutes in between with perfect work each time. Great place. Highly recommend if you are planning to save money and go overseas for any type of dental work. Such a beautiful place to venture while getting your teeth professionally done as if it were in Canada/USA. The periodontist was great, very knowledgeable and the rest of the doctors were as well. Very welcoming and enjoyable environment, especially from the drivers, receptionists and assistants. Dr Irma Gavaldon was always there to double and triple check that the best possible solution was carried out. Definitely returning to finish and will always go back to them for future larger work. (Unless they suddenly disappear or perform faulty work) A+

Costa Rica Dental Services

(866) 260-9546 San José, Costa Rica
Rating from 37 Reviews I’ve found my courage and my dentistJody, BOCA RATON, 30 Apr 18

I grind my teeth at night when I’m sleeping. This has ruined my teeth, given me headaches and damaged the Dental work I’ve already had. If that’s not enough I’ve had a disastrous encounter with an endodontist that resulted in 2 surgeries, a root canal, 2 crowns and finally the loss of the tooth. The pain was so traumatic that I’m afraid of the dentist. Thank goodness my moment of courage occurred at Costa Rica Dental Services. After careful consideration, we (yes, I was included) determined I needed 2 root canals redone (because 2 different US dentists failed to notice roots with more than 1 nerve.) A broken tooth needed a root canal (that was the reason for the courage) and 3 implants - 1 from the endodontist nightmare and 2 from root canals that couldn’t be completed without agony. (I’m wondering how many other teeth I had with 2 nerves per root.) Before I left I had a largely failed filling replaced and small worn places on my front teeth filled so I could smile. Up to this point, any exceptional dentist could have done the work I had. I have never met an exceptional dentist before but I’m sure they exist somewhere other than this office. In addition to bonding (my word not the dentists), my front teeth to fill the worn off enamel Dr. Gadea built up a tooth that was pushed behind the other front tooth and blended the effect so my crooked teeth look straight. Not straighter - straight! He also used that same bonding to make a rough line on the bottom of my teeth smooth and even. When I gasped and stared at him unable to speak from shock at my suddenly improved appearance he said,”This is what I love to do. When I get started I just have to make the teeth look better.” I have to go back to have the crowns when the implants have healed but I’ve found my courage and my dentist. I would dream of going anywhere else. In a scale of 1 to 10, Costa Rica Dental Services is a 20.

Denti Vitale Especialidades Dentales

Rating from 8 Reviews The clinic is always impeccably clean and well organisedGenevieve, Brisbane, 24 May 18

My first treatment with Dr Diego Rosales concerning ongoing dental concerns as described in other later reviews ( as the full treatment has been a continuing process for 10 days.) was on the 15th. I had a lot of work to be done! He talked about all options and immediately made me feel comfortable, confident and at ease. His knowledge and expertise are incredible. He speaks fluent English with ease which had been a problem a few years ago when I tried to have dental work in Mexico. I have had nearly daily appointments with Dr Diego Rosales since and I am constantly astonished at his technical skills, his concern and professional care for patients and continued amazing work. The clinic is always impeccably clean and well organised.

Dental Experts Guatemala

(888) 848-7639 ext: 85426 Guatemala, Guatemala
Rating from 66 Reviews I could not be more happy with my decisionLouis, US, 22 Feb 17

Dental tourism was treated as a new service business proposition. A significant search of the Internet was taken for worldwide potential dentists, reading hundreds of reviews and visiting hundreds of websites. The list was narrowed to 20 from India to Romania. A specific state of the art procedure was used as a bogey in an RFI that was sent out. This allowed professionalism to surface. The next step was an RFP to top 5 respondents using specific recent full X-rays obtained as part of the US specialist proposal to be used as base comparison. Dental Experts Guatemala surfaced above the competition for my 3 implants, root canal, three tooth permanent bridge, two complicated surgical extractions, 3 ceramic fillings, bone graft and cleaning. Total cost was less than two implants stateside. I may or may not decide to take the final step of having my teeth look perfect with veneers at a significantly reduced rate. I have not been to a more professional setting stateside. A top notch English speaking specialist was used for each specific procedure. Having the lead Dentist provide personal transportation from my Airbnb and subsequent hotel was almost embarrassing knowing how valuable time is to a person running this large of an enterprise. It speaks to the sincere commitment to top quality service. Sitting in one of the dental chairs in a brightly lit room on the ninth floor of a modern office building looking through a full wall 10 foot high window over Guatemala City was immediately relaxing. I used local anesthic and more was provided when there were extraction complications, which I knew were coming because of my long history of lousy dental luck. Thankfully these fixed price specialists took their time and did not leave anything behind as has happened twice before stateside. I could not be more happy with my decision to choose Dr. Antillon.

Dra. Luz Marely García Alvarez

Rating from 26 Reviews You are promptly seen and attended to at your scheduled timeScott, US, 16 Dec 17

Dental partials. This is a no-nonsense professional dentist. She performs only the work necessary and doesn't try to sell you unnecessary services (unlike the US.A). You are promptly seen and attended to at your scheduled time (also unlike the U.S.A). My work was performed at about 20% of the cost I would have paid for in Florida. Thank You (gracias) Doctor Luz Marely Garcia Alvarez!

Rating from 36 Reviews I was very well cared for and would give them the maximum ratingOxana, Canada, 13 Aug 18

I compared some reviews, prices and locations Jehovah was the overall best option for my dental implants. I had my follow-ups and will be returning in December to have more work done. Both treatment and service were great. They picked me up and drove me everywhere. I was very well cared for and would give them the maximum rating. I really like this dentist.

Cosmetic Dentist in Nuevo Progreso Dental Artistry

(866) 260-4253 Nuevo Progreso, Mexico
Rating from 37 Reviews Better than I can describeJohn, US, 29 Nov 16

Dr. Rene reconstructed 19 of my teeth and they function perfectly and wife says they look great. As part of the process his staff performed 14 root canals in one day. Following root canals titanium posts were placed in the canal to support the new teeth. This technology is far better than all of those proposed by various dentists in the United States and the price is about 60 percent less. I can honestly say that I will not voluntarily go to another dentist voluntarily. Dental Artistry is not the cheapest office in Neuvo Progresso but I cannot imagine a better one. They are my dentist for life. Do not be concerned. It is somewhat sad that Mexico leads the US in dental technology. Better than I can describe.

Temporary Crown $30 - $50
A temporary crown is a provisional, short term restoration used in dentistry. Usually the temporary crown is constructed from a chemical-cure composite, although alternative systems using aluminium crown forms are occasionally used by practitioners. The temporary material is shaped by the dentist to form a tooth shape that protects the prepared tooth, prevents damage to the periodontal tissues (gums) and disguises the prepared tooth to a degree until the final, definitive restoration can be made by a dental technician.A temporary crown will usually be cemented in place with a soft temporary dental cement, such as Temp-Bond NE. This allows easy removal when fitting the definitve restoration. If a temporary crown becomes decemented, it is important that a dentist examine the patient as overeruption of the opposing teeth may prevent accurate fitting of the final crown.
Dental Crowns $150 - $400
A dental crown is a cap-like restoration used to cover a damaged tooth. Crowns can give support to misshapen or badly broken teeth and permanently replace missing teeth to complete a smile or improve a bite pattern. They may be molded from metal, ceramic, plastics, or combinations of all three. They are cemented in place and coated to make them more natural looking. Historically, a variety of materials have been used as tooth replacements. The ancient Egyptians used animal teeth and pieces of bone as primitive replacement materials. More recently, artificial teeth have been fabricated from substances such as ivory, porcelain, and even platinum. With modern technology, high quality tooth replacements can be made from synthetic plastic resins, ceramic composites, and lightweight metal alloys.
Permanent Crown $150 - $450
Permanent crowns can be made from all metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, all resin, or all ceramic.Metals used in crowns include gold alloy, other alloys (for example, palladium) or a base-metal alloy (for example, nickel or chromium). Compared with other crown types, less tooth structure needs to be removed with metal crowns, and tooth wear to opposing teeth is kept to a minimum. Metal crowns withstand biting and chewing forces well and probably last the longest in terms of wear down. Also, metal crowns rarely chip or break. The metallic color is the main drawback. Metal crowns are a good choice for out-of-sight molars.Porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns can be color matched to your adjacent teeth (unlike the metallic crowns). However, more wearing to the opposing teeth occurs with this crown type compared with metal or resin crowns. The crowns porcelain portion can also chip or break off. Next to all-ceramic crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns look most like normal teeth. However, sometimes the metal underlying the crowns porcelain can show through as a dark line, especially at the gum line and even more so if your gums recede. These crowns can be a good choice for front or back teeth.All-resin dental crowns are less expensive than other crown types. However, they wear down over time and are more prone to fractures than porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns.All-ceramic or all-porcelain dental crowns provide the best natural color match than any other crown type and may be more suitable for people with metal allergies. However, they are not as strong as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and they wear down opposing teeth a little more than metal or resin crowns. All-ceramic crowns are a good choice for front teeth.Temporary versus permanent. Temporary crowns can be made in your dentists office whereas permanent crowns are made in a dental laboratory.
