What are Damon Braces?

The Damon system of braces uses a new method for straightening teeth. They are called self-ligating braces. They are fixed braces that do not use elastic bands to secure the wire woven through brackets like conventional braces. They use a metal clip or a door to secure the wire. The clip or door uses a sliding mechanism to open and close and keep the wire secure. The number of orthodontic appointments are fewer and the length of time to adjust Damon braces is shorter. They straighten teeth faster. It takes about one hour to fit Damon braces for patients.  Patient of all ages can wear Damon braces and they offer metal and clear brackets.

How long should I wear Damon Braces?

Damon braces take six months to two years to straighten teeth.

Well here I am, 11 months into my treatment consisting of almost a full mouth of dental implants. I did months of research before I chose this practice, I knew it was a huge undertaking and commitment and I was extremely nervous. I've had easy appointments and I've had more difficult appointments but throughout my treatment I never felt any discomfort or pain. And most importantly I trusted my Doctors. The chairs that I have my treatment in are out of this world! So comfy I've even nodded off during treatment and had to be poked awake! I'm not saying it's fun but it's as good as it can get at this surgery. I will be grateful forever for the wonderful care and expertise I receive here. I'm almost finished treatment, as I write this today, my implants are about to have the first fitting tomorrow and I'm so excited. I've carefully chosen from the options available, with expert advice and after a whole year I will finally have a perfect smile again. I'm 66 now and a smoker so if I can do it, so can you! It's the best decision of my life. I'd like to say a special thank you to Doctor Aziz, who has looked after me so well, he can make you laugh through the whole process, which is a gift in itself. The prices were completely fair when the standard of treatment is considered. I've never had such professional people looking after my smile before! Ceramic Brace from from £2500
Ceramic braces are a cosmetic alternative to the common metal braces. They are made of tooth colour brackets and archwires and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. Tooth coloured wires are attached to the front surfaces of your teeth through ceramic brackets. These wires are tightened over time, applying gentle pressure to the teeth which encourages them to move into a straighter position. Ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.

I had intensive treatment performed by Adam after damage done to my upper teeth and gums/bone by a previous dentist. A sinus lift, bone graft, implants and crowns. All done without a sedative - only the usual injections in the mouth. (You can choose to have a sedative of course). I felt absolutely no pain during the many procedures over several months. After each operation I did exactly what Adam advised in regards to pain management. Again, I was pain free 24/7. All treatments were successful with no infection present. I am thrilled to bits with the results - I never have to think about them in anyway. I use a waterpic water flosser and clean my teeth twice a day. It's nearly 3 years later, I have my regular check ups and clean; no treatments/fillings required since! Superb attention to detail from Adam and great assistance from his team. It's worth every penny you spend on getting your smile back! Thanks a million to Adam and the Dental suite team. Ann.
