Everything went smoothlyAlexander, Malta, 14 06 19

Titanium Implant: Had a crown fitted nearly 20 years ago. In 2017, it fell out and I went to a dentist in my vicinity to have it fitted. The procedure was done and within 18 to 24 months, it fell out again. Went back to him and he informed me that there was an infection and I would have to either have a bridge done or have an implant. At this point, I decided to get a second opinion as I was rather concerned about his competency. Searched online and came across Drs Demajo Dental and implantology clinics. Having done some preliminary research into their history and qualifications particularly as it relates to implants, I thought I'd schedule an appointment. The initial consultation was straight to the point and the procedure thoroughly. The premises are very well maintained and my first impressions were that the staff seem highly professional. Once the consultation was over, I was informed of the cost which I thought was rather high but apparently conforms to industry standards and keeps them competitive, so I decided to go for the procedure. The whole process took about four months, from extracting the tooth, implanting the titanium and leaving the gum to heal. I had to go every four weeks to assess the state and health of the treatment and in my case, everything went smoothly. By the fourth month, all I had to do was choose whether I wanted to have the ceramic (zirconium) implant or titanium implant (I believe it's a mixed precious metal, can't recall for certain). I chose the titanium due to it having been used for over 40 years, extremely durable and they have a success rate of over 98% a decade after surgery, with many patients having titanium implants for over 25 years with no complications. The ceramic implant is a more recent technology but not as durable. This option would be most useful for those who are sensitive to metals or experience some sort of allergic reaction. Also, it more aesthetically pleasing than the titanium but the difference in appearance isn't drastic and in my case, the location of the implant is towards the back, so I wasn't too fussed about it. Overall, I'd recommend incurring the cost for this sort of procedure especially if it's in the hands of highly trained and capable professionals such as those at Dr Demajo dental and implantology clinic. Also, they'll schedule follow up appointment to monitor your progress and there's also a guarantee for the implants, which is reassuring. Hope this helps.

Dental Implants
The process is based on a process of integration of titanium or zirconia to the surrounding bone. This allows the new replacement tooth or teeth to have a very strong and stable base, maintaining the surrounding bone. This is the reason why implants give you the comfort, functionality and beauty of healthy teeth. In order to understand how implants work it is important to appreciate the way in which healing takes place. When a tooth is taken out it leaves a hole in the gum which fills up with a blood clot. Within two months the hole in the jaw is covered with gum, slowly over the next six months the bone fills the hole completely. The healing of implants depends on this natural process. Traditional dentistry, which relies on bridges, partial and complete dentures, simply cannot compare to the “good as new” quality that advanced implant technology can give you. Teeth are rarely lost today, because every effort is made to save them. There are a number of reasons why teeth may need to be taken out.• Dental DiseaseWhen very little of the tooth remains because of a lot of decay. For example root filled teeth with failed post crowns or broken teeth.• Gum DiseaseThe supporting bone around the tooth is lost due to pocketing and infection, in some cases even leading to tooth mobility.• Unsuccessful Root canal therapyTeeth that have been root canal treated can be prone to persistent infection resulting in a poor prognosis and are often removed.Implant therapy is the replacement of the root with an artificial root that is made from titanium or zirconia. The procedure can be used to replace one tooth, several teeth or all the teeth. <

The dentist was very professional and talked me through itPer, Norway, 23 12 16

Excellent. I did a dental cleaning and one filling. Price of the filling was 40 euro while the cleaning and xray pictures cost me 30. The filling was quite deep and I got two needles with anesthetics. I have very low tolerance to pain, but the dentist was very professional and talked me through it, very calmly. My wife was also very happy with her treatment. Excellent. The facade is quite hidden, just beside a pharmacy. Inside it was nice and clean with very professional staff. There's clean restroom and waiting room with tv and english magazines/newspapers.

He was quick and extremely efficientRebecca, Malta, 02 06 17

I saw Dr. Formosa for an emergency (whilst pregnant!) in 2014. He was quick and extremely efficient. I have recommended him to others who require a dentist urgently. Central location though parking may be tricky at times.
