What is Dental Bonding?

Dental Bonding is a procedure by which composite resin material closely matching the colour of the patient’s teeth is adhered to the tooth to cosmetically enhance its appearance and colour. A curing light, either ultraviolet rays or a laser beam is used to harden the resin.  It takes about 60 to 90 minutes to perform.

When can I travel by air after Dental Bonding?

Patients can travel by air immediately after a dental bonding procedure unless the dentist advises them against travel.

How long does recovery after Dental Bonding take?

If local anaesthesia is administered, patients may feel uncomfortable till the anaesthesia wears off. The anaesthesia will wear off in a few hours. Dental bonding is a pain free procedure.

How do I care for my teeth after Dental Bonding?

Patients should not drink beverages or eat food that may stain teeth for at least two days. They should brush and floss their teeth regularly and maintain overall good oral hygiene. They should use a soft toothbrush while brushing teeth. They should avoid biting hard objects or eating hard food items. They should stop smoking and drink water after every meal.

Rating from 223 Reviews I look like I have a completely new and full set of teeth and couldn't be more satisfied.David, Malta, 03 Mar 17

I had been to an other dentist and, unfortunately, got 4 teeth chipped and so decided to come to Drs Demajo as I had heard very good comments about them. So, I am a transfer case. I had braces top and bottom to straighten my teeth and make space for two pre-molar implants. I also did cleaning which is also excellent and definitely worth doing. I recommend it to anyone. I was a patient of two dentists and both listened to my opinions and wishes, treated me with friendliness and kindness, and the results in terms of aesthetics are very pleasing indeed. I look like I have a completely new and full set of teeth and couldn't be more satisfied. The prices are also very competitive. I definitely recommend this particular clinic because, in my opinion, they are the best on the island.

I was very happy with heartfelt joy and a big smile on my faceJacqueline, UK, 26 Apr 17

I went to the clinic for dental procedure and the process was really good. The doctor is very cautious and takes careful consideration and professional expertise for each phase including all surgery sessions and bone grafting as necessary. The lengthy process over time progressed well, right up to the insertion of the new implant. Indeed, I was very happy with heartfelt joy and a big smile on my face to my personal satisfaction.

Wonderful painless treatment that went much further than expectations. Had four implants placed and feel much more confident smiling. Great clinic and great team.

The dentist was very professional and talked me through itPer, Norway, 23 Dec 16

Excellent. I did a dental cleaning and one filling. Price of the filling was 40 euro while the cleaning and xray pictures cost me 30. The filling was quite deep and I got two needles with anesthetics. I have very low tolerance to pain, but the dentist was very professional and talked me through it, very calmly. My wife was also very happy with her treatment. Excellent. The facade is quite hidden, just beside a pharmacy. Inside it was nice and clean with very professional staff. There's clean restroom and waiting room with tv and english magazines/newspapers.

The Dental and Implantology Unit at Saint James Hospital

2778 1850 ext: 24839 Dental & Implantology Unit at Saint James Hospital, George Borg Olivier Street, Silema, SLM 1807
Rating from 22 Reviews I needed extensive dental work as my teeth were failingSusan, Malta, 03 Dec 15

As an older person, I recently reached the stage where I needed extensive dental work as my teeth were failing and my severe gag reflex rendered dentures of any kind impossible. A comprehensive treatment plan was drawn up and carefully discussed with me before going ahead. This required the extraction of several teeth, initially planned for five but I believe there were more. I had approximately six implants in my upper jaw and three in the lower jaw. But the crowning glory (no pun intended) was the bridge work for the upper jaw. This is of the highest standard, and great care was taken to ensure a good colour match with what is left of my own teeth. It looks completely natural and I am not sure that anyone would be aware of how much effort and expertise went into reaching this stage. I would have really hated one of those bright white bridges that you see too often! This was expensive treatment, but I view it as investment for life. The implants and bridge fitted have a projected life, with good care and hygiene, of 15-20 years although the bridge may need changing after 10-15 years due to wear. I would find it hard to recommend the work of this clinic highly enough. I am a very difficult dental patient as I have a severe gag reflex, which makes almost all treatment impossible without sedation. This in turn led me to being very nervous of visits to the dentist. The care, consideration and encouragement of the professional staff here has brought me to a stage where I am comfortable entering the dental surgery - a simple visit that previously would have left me in a state of near collapse. Obviously this amount of work took a fair amount of time, and I always received what I consider to be the highest standards of care and courtesy. Everyone from the Receptionists, through the very lovely dental nurses to Mark and Susanna Diacono and the various anaesthetists were outstanding. Quite apart from the care at the time of the appointments, I appreciated the follow up phone calls to ensure that I was OK and recovering well. If you are a nervous patient, have a sensitive gag reflex or require any kind of dental work, but especially the extensive type of treatment I have had, I strongly recommend you visit the Dental and Implantology Unit; I am confident that you will receive the same world-class treatment I have.
