The dentist will place temporary crowns on the implant/s abutments (the extension that protrudes out of the gum where the crowns will be fixed to the implant) so that the patient will have use of that area, the implants will be protected and for aesthetic appeal. The patient will then be re-called and the final permanent crowns will be placed.Please note: if you have many teeth missing in an area, this will normally not require you to have implants for every single tooth. For single or double tooth loss in one area-you will need individual implants but 3 or more in one area will require less implants.
