Dr Zafar completed the 1st stage of my 2 upper implants on the 16th December. I was very nervous going in ( let’s be honest the idea of drilling into the jaw bone isn’t the nicest ) but, honestly; the worst part was a small ‘scratch’ feeling from the local numbing. The process was very quick and painless. Later that day when I got home I felt very tired and my upper jaw felt uncomfortable so I put myself up to bed early with some paracetamol. By the morning, to my surprise; I felt absolutely fine ( no further pain killers were even required). 6 weeks on everything has seemingly gone well… another month or so and I will be going back for the next stage! Very impressed so far with the work done 🤩

I’ve been in Dan’s care for several years now- I arrived on recommendation, but honestly, I struggled to believe that my smile could ever be something to be proud of. I had many broken, amalgam-filled teeth, sensitive and with barely any ‘bite’. Dan is simply a miracle worker; his attention to detail is off the charts, and his manner is consistently relaxed and warm. He shared every step of my 3-phase plan in detail, enabling me to budget for each part. I arrived today, for a veneer removal ahead of my orthodontic work starting tomorrow; however needed some repair work, a little last-minute! Without fluster or admonishment, the work was done to perfection as always by Dan and Dimi, too and with a kindness which put a tear in my eye. Thank you both for everything. Dan, you’re an angel and so appreciated.

I contacted Old Orchard Dentists, Bonnyrigg following online feedback as I needed a new dentist who would be patient with me as I get quite anxious when at the dentist. I am so anxious, I suffered 3 weeks of steadily increasing toothache - they gave me a cancellation appt for the next day and I saw Mr Benoît Loyer. He was very kind and took care to explain all that he was doing. I had full teeth x-rays, we agreed a plan of treatment and he prescribed me some antibiotics for the infected tooth. I went back a few weeks later and had my first treatment, a filling replacement and tooth decay removal, which was quite deep and verging on root canal treatment if it didn't work. He numbed my gum with gel before the anaesthetic injection and I honestly did not feel any pain through the entire treatment. I was back today for another filling replacement and tooth decay removal and this time, we did the injection without any gel and I still did not feel any pain; he explained that if the anaesthetic is injected slowly it doesn't hurt. Again, there was no pain at all during the treatment, he was very careful and explained what he was doing throughout. I highly recommend him as a caring and excellent dentist.
