What are Lumineers?

Lumineers are thin porcelain shells made of cerinate ceramic that are placed over teeth to improve the smile of patients. They are placed by dentists who are specially certified to perform the procedure.  They are bonded to the tooth to augment its appearance. It takes 60 to 90 minutes to place Lumineers.

What is the difference between a Veneer and a Lumineer?

Cerinate ceramic that is used to make Lumineers is thinner than the porcelain used to make veneers. The tooth needs to be prepared before placing veneers. Lumineers are very thin and have the thickness of a contact lens. No tooth preparation is required to place Lumineers. Veneers are made of porcelain, zirconia or composite resin. Lumineers are made only of cerinate ceramic. Lumineers are costlier than veneers.  The procedure for placing veneers is not reversible, as some of the tooth has to be removed, while the procedure for placing Lumineers can be reversed.

Is having Lumineers fitted painful?

No grinding or tooth preparation is required for placing Lumineers. The procedure is pain free.

How are Lumineers fitted?

The dentist takes the impression of the teeth of the patient. The impression is sent to a Lumineers laboratory so the restorations can be made. On the next visit the dentist will bond the Lumineers to the teeth of the patient after checking the comfort of their bite.

What care is required after fitting Lumineers?

Patients should follow correct dental hygiene and brush and floss their teeth regularly. They should attend their dental clinic for their scheduled follow up appointments. They should not eat hard or chewy food products. They should avoid food and beverages that could stain the Lumineers.

A friendly and sympathetic welcome from the startJohn, Ireland, 10 06 25

After a lifetime of dental neglect all because of a gagging problem anything that involved doing work inside my mouth was difficult. (sometimes even brushing my teeth). Finally picking up the courage to make an appointment with the Gate Clinic I have to say all my nightmares are over. A friendly and sympathetic welcome from the start, from Claire at reception to the expert care by Brian Delgado who sedated me for my first session, everybody greets you with a friendly smile. This was followed by several visits under the care of Pedro an absolute expert where implants are concerned and nurse Patricia who was so encouraging and kind. I now have a perfect lower set of teeth mounted on 4 implants with which I can eat anything once again. Thanks especially to Pedro and Patricia without who's kindness, encouragement and care made the whole experience so pleasant.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. With veneers as an alternative, you can close gaps between your teeth and correct teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked.

Veneers from €350
Veneers are thin, semi-translucent “shells” typically attached to your front teeth. Veneers are customized from porcelain material and permanently bonded to your teeth. Veneers are a great alternative to otherwise painful dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile.Veneers are wafer thin lamintates or shells of tooth coloured material (which can be either porcelain, ceramic or composite bonding material) that are “cemented” to the front surface of teeth to improve their cosmetic appearance. Many dentists use the analogy that dental veneers are for your teeth what false finger nails are for your hands. In a similar manner to how false finger nails are placed or glued to your existing fingernails, veneers are bonded to the front of your existing teeth.

I couldn't be happier with the care we receiveAnna, Ireland, 11 12 25

I've had the pleasure of visiting Castlemile Dental Clinic multiple times with my family, and I must say, the service and care we receive is top-notch! Dr. Nicholas and the entire team are amazing - professional, friendly, and always put us at ease. From the moment we walk in, we're greeted with a warm smile and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable, efficient, and make sure we're comfortable throughout our appointments. Dr. Nicholas is particularly great with my kids - he explains everything in a way they can understand, and makes them feel like they're in good hands. I've seen him go above and beyond to ensure my family's dental needs are met. I couldn't be happier with the care we receive. If you're looking for a dental clinic that truly cares about its patients, look no further than Castlemile Dental Clinic and Dr. Nicholas! 👍

Cannot speak highly enough about Molloy Dental. My first visit and so grateful to Dentist and his Nurse.Such friendly staff from the moment I walked in the door .What a beautiful place and so spotless. So grateful to all .Had an infection in my back tooth and had it removed.

Lumineers™
Made of Cerinate porcelain, Lumineers are a new type of porcelain veneers. They are contact lens-thin, roughly . 2 mm thick. Little to no tooth reduction in most cases is necessary with this type of veneer and anesthetics or numbing shots are not needed these can only be used in a small selection of cases again we will discuss with you whether you are suitable or not.
Veneers
Porcelain (indirect) veneers are a very thin porcelain material. Usually porcelain veneers require two visits, where at the first appointment a small portion of the front surface of your tooth is removed and impressions then taken which gives the information for a dental laboratory to create the final tooth restoration. At the second appointment the veneers are permanently fitted to your teeth

He made me feel better and more optimisticKalpana, UK, 29 08 22

I have never published an online review before, and these few words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for Doctor Tauheed's professionalism. I have been ill for the past few weeks and have visited numerous doctors in Ireland... I visited online GPs, in-person GPs, Connolly hospital emergency (public) and Hermitage hospital emergency (private), but no one helped me feel better and more mentally capable of battling the physical health issue I was experiencing. As there are no appointments or doctors available to see me, I was really alarmed when the majority of them informed me that I would have to wait several months for further tests. In-person GPs advised me to visit the emergency for blood tests and charged me €80 for the referral. When I was nearly unconscious, a Connolly hospital staff member prodded me in the chest and stated I was acting (as if visiting the hospital is a cinema hall with a free ticket). And after collecting my blood and waiting 8 hours, the emergency doctor informed me that my inflammation mark is about 110, which is dangerously high; it should be less than 5; nevertheless, there are no doctors available to investigate, so I must return to my primary care physician. Here, God brought me Doctor Tauheed, who suggested I visit Hermitage or any private facility. I paid about €600 for scans and blood tests at Hermitage but was left with the information that I will need a colonoscopy, for which the doctor is not accessible for several weeks. I was utterly broken and hopeless in my life due to the physical and mental pains I was experiencing. I asked a second GP if she could help me with medication or appointments, and she told me that patients with cancer were also waiting, so I would have to wait as well, which made me feel even more terrified and helpless. The very first time I saw Doctor Tauheed, he made me feel better and more optimistic, so I felt compelled to visit him at least for a conversation. Doctor Tauheed felt his patient's anguish and went above and beyond to help me make an appointment and be seen by a doctor in NO TIME. With his supportive comments and assurance that I'm here to help you, I already felt optimistic and psychologically strong to overcome my weakness. Every other doctor heard me speak in order to respond, but Doctor Tauheed listened in order to comprehend what was wrong with me and how to treat it. Waiting for weeks and months for appointments and doctors is a disgrace in and of itself, and it may be a more complex problem than can be readily solved, but exhibiting little concern and offering few words of hope to patients shouldn't be that difficult for any doctor. A huge salute to Doctor Tauheed for being the true doctor who knows how to make his patients feel better. I wish him nothing but success in life. Thank you, Doctor Tauheed.
