What are Skin Tags and how are they removed?

Skin tags are unsightly but harmless skin growths. They grow on a stem and are usually found on the eyelids and face, neck, armpits or under breasts. They are also called polyps or soft fibroma. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to remove skin tags by cutting, tying, burning, using electrosurgery, or freezing, using liquid nitrogen called cryosurgery.  

Is Skin Tag Removal painful?

A local anaesthetic or numbing cream is applied to the skin tag area before it is removed. Patients will not feel pain when skin tags are removed.  

Can I travel by air after Skin Tag Removal?

Patients should wait at least a day after skin tag removal before flying so that the local anaesthetic has completely worn off.  

When will I recover after Skin Tag Removal?

It takes four to five days before patients fully recover after a skin tag is removed. Recovery time depends on the number of skin tags, the size of the skin tag and the area of the body where they are located.

What care is required after Skin Tag Removal?

Patients should take all prescribed medications and apply topical medications correctly. They should sleep with their head elevated for two days. They should avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for at least a week. They should avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight for at least nine months. They should avoid touching or scratching the treated area to ensure that the healing is quick.

I went to Dr Kajan’s clinic to have a mole on my back removed. He emailed straightaway to ask me to send a photo, which I did. He rang me the next day to ask a few more questions and since I wanted to go ahead, we arranged a date. The clinic is within a GP surgery in Shenfield, very hygienic, very professional, and only a few minutes walk from Shenfield Station on the Elizabeth Line. I was given a local anaesthetic and the removal took a very short time. He said he would email me instructions for aftercare, which I received almost straight away. A very caring, compassionate and professional doctor.

Skin tags are generally very easy to remove. It does however depend on how big they are, where they are and how wide the attachment. Generally, quite a few can be removed in less than 5 minutes.When removed they will never grow back. New ones may appear over time, as they would anyway, but the removed ones are gone for good. As with all treatments at Skin-hub, there are no injections, lasers, freezing, scalpels or stitches.
Mole Removal £75 - £150
Skin-hub provides a very safe, simple and effective technique for removing moles for cosmetic purposes, without the need for injections, scalpels, stitches, lasers or freezing. A small blunt needle the size of an eyelash cauterizes the mole tissue. This, in turn, forms the whole mole into a scab, which drops off at a later date. Moles which are raised enough to be held with tweezers can be removed by gentle strokes through the mole to both excise and cauterize at the same time. The price is £100 for the first mole and £50 for any subsequent moles removed. There are no hidden extra costs such as for any follow-up appointments if they are required.
