What are Skin Tags and how are they removed?

Skin tags are unsightly but harmless skin growths. They grow on a stem and are usually found on the eyelids and face, neck, armpits or under breasts. They are also called polyps or soft fibroma. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to remove skin tags by cutting, tying, burning, using electrosurgery, or freezing, using liquid nitrogen called cryosurgery.

Is Skin Tag Removal painful?

A local anaesthetic or numbing cream is applied to the skin tag area before it is removed. Patients will not feel pain when skin tags are removed.

Can I travel by air after Skin Tag Removal?

Patients should wait at least a day after skin tag removal before flying so that the local anaesthetic has completely worn off.

When will I recover after Skin Tag Removal?

It takes four to five days before patients fully recover after a skin tag is removed. Recovery time depends on the number of skin tags, the size of the skin tag and the area of the body where they are located.

What care is required after Skin Tag Removal?

Patients should take all prescribed medications and apply topical medications correctly. They should sleep with their head elevated for two days. They should avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for at least a week. They should avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight for at least nine months. They should avoid touching or scratching the treated area to ensure that the healing is quick.

The results were good and the procedure workedHolly, UK, 17 03 18

I needed a skin tag removed and this clinic had an appointment available. The results were good and the procedure worked, but they were far too overpriced for my budget. I was given a quote before the appointment and I paid this price in the end. The clinic was fine and the staff provided an excellent service. I would give them 5 stars for the experience, but the cost was the thing that put me off. Because of the high rates, I can only give them a 4/5.

Excellent work and a great sense of humour too that was really appreciatedJuliet, UK, 29 10 19

Very quick and efficient all round. I had a broken upper molar that required extraction, and after looking at the tooth and explaining implications of extraction I had 2 quick injections. This was the worst bit of the whole experience as injections often are. I was talked through the process as each root was extracted, and reassured as he removed it as to where he was going to work next. Cannot fault the procedure or the staff in any way. It was all completed in 15 minutes. Excellent work and a great sense of humour too that was really appreciated. Unfortunately cannot remember Dentist/surgeons name.

Skin Tag Removal from £79
What does this treatment entail? A fine probe induces a high-frequency electrical currentcalled diathermy, which creates highly localised heat. This can be used to causea wart or skin tag to dry up and wither away.   What happens at the session? The treatment is preceded by a consultation, in which thepractitioner can assess the mole, wart, skin tag or millia in question, andclients can quiz the team on the procedure. The 30-minute treatment can then beperformed.   What happens afterwards? The area forms a scab which lasts a few days and shouldbe left to naturally come away from the skin, to avoid the risk of scarring.
