What are Skin Tags and how are they removed?

Skin tags are unsightly but harmless skin growths. They grow on a stem and are usually found on the eyelids and face, neck, armpits or under breasts. They are also called polyps or soft fibroma. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to remove skin tags by cutting, tying, burning, using electrosurgery, or freezing, using liquid nitrogen called cryosurgery.

A local anaesthetic or numbing cream is applied to the skin tag area before it is removed. Patients will not feel pain when skin tags are removed.

We use advanced thermocoagulation for skin tag removal which involves an electrical current flowing through a tiny needle which generates heat and is applied to the skin lesion. We would use a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area prior to the treatment. This technique has a superior aesthetic outcome compared with other treatments. The cost is £150 for the removal of 3 small tags.

We use advanced thermocoagulation for mole removal which involves an electrical current flowing through a tiny needle which generates heat and is applied to the skin lesion. We would use a local anaesthetic injection to numb the area. This technique has a superior aesthetic outcome compared with other treatments. The first thing to do would be to book in for a FREE consultation to assess the lesion and make sure it is something we can treat. The cost is £280 per mole. We send off a portion of all moles removed to the laboratory to screen for any cancerous cells contained within the mole.
