What’s the difference between electrolysis and laser?

Electrolysis treats each hair follicle individually with a very fine, disposable, sterile probe to permanently destroy the follicle’s ability to reproduce, thereby eradicating hair growth on completion of the course of treatment.

Laser tends to treat large areas of skin using a laser which can reduce hair growth, and remove all of the hair permanently. It is termed hair reduction rather than hair removal. 

Both electrolysis and laser as the two treatments can work well in conjunction with each other in some circumstances. Permanent hair removal with electrolysis requires a longer course of treatment but results in complete, permanent removal of all hair treated.

Laser treatment works perfectly on hair with colour but electrolysis works best on white hair, so this combo is perfect.

How does it work?

The concept behind needling is the stimulation of new collagen production in your skin. The needle breaks the skin and causes micro-trauma and micro-inflammation. Your body responds by sending blood to the area for healing. As your skin repairs itself, new collagen builds up just below the surface. The wrinkles, lines, or depressed scars plump from the bottom-up without the use of anything artificial. Repeated needling sessions gradually and continually build new collagen to fill-in the treated areas.

The gentle stimulus provided by Micro Needling is far more “skin friendly” and thus far more effective than many other more invasive and more expensive skin treatments. Micro-channels seal within hours after application: long enough for new collagen-structures to form within the lower layers of the skin and short enough to allow you to resume normal schedules quickly.

This appears to be the end of the story. But it isn’t. Underneath the skin’s surface, much more is going on. What causes facial veins?

These broken veins and capillaries are found in men and women mainly on the face, which are caused either by age, trauma, sun exposure or alcohol.

How can they be treated?

Intense Pulse Light or Laser treatment can eliminate damaged veins and capillaries by targeting the light energy on the facial veins. The light energy is absorbed by the haemoglobin and converted to heat energy. Blood coagulates and the vessel wall collapses. In time the vessel is broken down and absorbed by the body.
