FMS - Facial Masculinization Surgery Turkey

I am writing a review so that others may benefit from learning further about my septo-rhinoplasty experience organised and orchestrated by Dr Andaç Aykan and his team. I am from the UK originally but lived in Turkey for nine years previously. I was fully aware of the scale of the health tourism sector, but did not know where to start looking when considering surgery options in Istanbul. Having exhausted UK package possibilities (I did not feel comfortable knowing that some surgeons are performing multiple surgeries in a day, the incessant ‘special offers,’ and the mixed results.) By word of mouth and recommendation I heard of Dr. Aykan, having had several previous in-person consultations. In my case I was not looking for a drastic change in my appearance and my main aim was to find a surgeon able to proceed without artistic license! Keeping in mind, I am a person who does not like change and whom struggles even with hairstyle differences. The combined recommendation, reviews, clinic, technology, Doctor and team made my decision very easy. Where other Doctors had sketched or tried to explain expected changes to my nose incoherently, Dr Aykan used 3D vectra imaging to portray an expected result, using the angles of my face to develop a nose with the best fit for my face and other features. Furthermore, after assessing my nose internally (whilst showing me onscreen) he provided a ready printed document and was able to illustrate how my septum deviated and necessary structural changes to allow me to breathe more freely. Dr Aykan speaks perfect English and was able to articulate and address all of my concerns - of which I had a list of questions to resolve. I had not anticipated my peak in anxiety the day before and day of the surgery and I felt that this was completely understood and acknowledged. I felt that Dr Aykan offset my anxiety and nerves through his calm, steadfast and intellectual demeanour. Overall I can say instinctively that I felt that Dr. Aykan would not do me a disservice and I felt throughout the process that I was able to trust fully in the Doctor to achieve the result I had requested. When I had any doubts in the months before the surgery, I always returned to the position that, ‘this is the surgeon who can execute the optimal result.’ On the day of the surgery, everything went smoothly and I woke up to the sound of Şevval’s voice (the Dr’s Assistant), who expressed that everything had gone well. I later saw the Doctor in the hospital room and was able to share that my breathing was much improved, even as of Day 1! The hospital room itself was really lovely and my boyfriend was able to stay next to me on a fold out sofa. The nurses were incredible and throughout the night attentively put ice on my eyes every one hour. I was not able to express my immense gratitude easily after the surgery but they really impressed me and made a huge difference to the overall experience and in my speedy recovery - whereby I happened to have a deficit of bruising and only a minimal 3 days of discomfort. Fast forward to the result and I could not be happier. Leaving the clinic I have already fully accepted my new nose and can really see how it has enhanced my appearance. I am also benefiting from the real results of the septoplasty, in every breath I take. I am excited to see the results transform and become even more outstanding in the upcoming few months, once swelling reduces. I am looking forward to future engagements when photos will showcase the true artistry of Dr Aykan and when my confidence will be boosted by this stunning, understated and natural minor modification to my look. I have recently returned home to England following surgery performed by Dr Can in Istanbul. This was something that I had dreamt of for years! I had, embarrassingly, developed my breasts early in my teens, and look to have my breasts reduced in Turkey! I went online, but on this occasion, I thought it preferable to do my own diligent online research with a view to directly sourcing a reputable surgeon that I could personally appoint to undertake my required surgery. I performed my initial internet search using the words “best female plastic surgeons in Turkey” and immediately many Google results were showing a Dr Can in Istanbul, including her interesting social media pages. Following this, I took up more in-depth research into who she was, where the hospital and her private clinic were geographically located within the massive city, her experience to date and what patient referrals were available.Dr Can’s CV was one of the first informative documents I came upon and read with great interest, it actually answered all my important questions and I instantly realised that I’d found a diamond! Within hours, I contacted Dr Can via WhatsApp (which I found on her brilliant Instagram) and she arranged a video call with me so that she could fully appraise the undertaking, ask me questions, answer any of my mine, and, of course explain to me, in fine detail, everything that was involved in such an operation- including how she would best approach it, what I should do in preparation over the coming months, how long I should stay for and really all that I could expect from her in relation to what I wanted to achieve which was normal sized breasts. Shortly afterwards, Dr Can supplied me with a price for the surgery and a stay in the hospital. In addition, and on my request, she also gave me a suggested hotel and a Private Car Chauffeur Service contact that could collect me from the airport and take on any of the other trips I would need to do whilst I was in Istanbul. It was all exactly what I was looking for and I agreed to book. I think it is worth mentioning here that there was truly no pressure put on me by Dr Can to choose her and pay, quite the opposite.She was direct without being intrusive, very professional and simply presented the facts it was left to me to decide whether to book or not. All I will say about the invoice is that it was a snip,compared to the same operation in England! We agreed a provisional date for the surgery and I paid a small deposit to confirm this. And then I booked my flights and my own hotel,I took up the Chauffeur Service as I thought it would be useful,I was able to fully confirm the surgery date with the flights booked. It was six months from booking to arriving in Istanbul airport where we were picked up and taken to the hotel. The next morning, we were again collected by a driver and taken to the hospital for EcG and blood tests there was a young male there on behalf of Dr Can there who could speak English and translate on my behalf,it was quite straightforward and I was out of there within an hour.I spent the rest of the day shopping. Early the following morning our driver took me to the hospital where I was taken to my room and given hospital clothes etc. Shortly afterwards Dr Can arrived with and personally introduced herself,she looks so young and pretty that you would never imagine that she is a top plastic surgeon when you first see her. Speaking in very good English she eased my obvious anxiety and proceeded to draw the lines on my breasts and body that she would be cutting into in a very short space of time. On leaving, she said she would see me in the Operating Theatre and “everything would be good”I had no pain At all. All the staff at hospital were lovely. Dr Can Zeliha Gül is a beautiful young fantastic surgeon.
