Right from the beginning, I knew I was in very professional and dedicated handsPaulette, Ireland, 14 10 18

Both shoulders, hip and in fact, everywhere! Significant pain and no sleep for months until Fionnuala! I came to Fionnuala's clinic with a healthy dose of scepticism. Not so much about Physical Therapy, but more about just how much it could actually do for the issues I was having. I hadn't slept in months due to the persistent pain in my shoulders and hip. Right from the beginning, I knew I was in very professional and dedicated hands. Fionnuala spent a good deal of time taking a complete history and listening carefully to what I said. She picked on several things which I didn't really consider important. Once the treatment began, I was amazed at just how effective it was immediately. I have continued to attend and with every session, I am getting so much relief. Right after session one I actually slept well for the first time in so so long. The issues that have plagued me have been there for years, so I did not expect to have such great results so quickly. I honestly cannot recommend Fionnuala highly enough. She is a consummate professional, highly skilled, with a detailed knowledge of both her craft and the human body. In addition, she has a lovely friendly personality that will put the most anxious person at ease. I thoroughly enjoy my sessions, if 'enjoy' is the correct term! Although the treatment can be uncomfortable at times, the effectiveness and real improvement make it more than worthwhile. Oh, and Fionnuala is extremely reasonably priced, especially considering the amount of time she devotes to her patients. Go for it! You will not regret it.

Dry Needling
Dry needling is the insertion of sterile single use acupuncture needles directly into myofascial (muscular) trigger points.  Trigger points are tight, tender knots within the muscle which cause and contribute to pain within the body.  Research studies have shown that inserting such needles into trigger points causes favourable biochemical changes within the body, which help reduce pain. Although dry needling uses the same needles as acupuncture, it is not the same technique.  Dry needling is strictly based upon Western medicine principles of treating myofascial trigger points, which are different to traditional acupuncture points. Dry needling can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal problems as the treatment of muscles with this technique can reduce pain mechanisms and break down pain cycles. It is best used in combination with the specific rehabilitation programme as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
