Tom Quinn Sports Injury & Rehabilitation Clinic - compiling
Rating from 3 Reviews He is a thorough professional with his assistance my daughter has made a full recoveryPatricia, Ireland, 20 Mar 18

Our first visit to Tom Quinn was after my daughter had injured her knee playing Ladies Football. On examination, Tom has concerned the injury was not a matter for him and referred her to see a specialist. My daughter had torn her ACL and required reconstructive surgery, two weeks after the operation we returned to Tom's clinic where he started a rehabilitation programme. That was in June 2017, we continued with the programme until February 2018. Tom is a thorough professional, with his assistance my daughter has made a full recovery and is back playing sport again this season. As well as devising a weekly exercise programme, he sent her videos of how to do the exercise on Whatsapp, as well as even going as far as to arrange two sessions in Abbeyleix GAA pitch, to review how she was running and turning. The clinic is conveniently located close to Abbeyleix and is a valuable asset to the area. It has all the equipment necessary for a busy rehabilitation center.

Deep Tissue Massage €25 - €65
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapythat focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Itis especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiffnecks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massagetherapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentratedon areas of tension and pain. Deep tissue massage is recommended for athletes, those who have sustained a physical injury, and those who experience consistentback and muscular problems. What conditions can it treat? Chronic pain. Limited and/or painful mobility. Recovery from injury (whiplash, sports injuries,etc.). Repetitive strain injury/RSI (carpal tunnelsyndrome, etc.). Muscle tension or spasm. Postural problems. Headaches. Migraines.
Full Body Massage €45 - €65
Relaxing nmassage is essentially the same as a gentle Swedish massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes. The primary purpose will be to help you relax, and the massagetherapist will  move at a slower pace anduse light pressure. During a relaxation massage there is less emphasison working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and theth
MLD - Manual Lymphatic Drainage €40 - €60
Lymph drainage massage is a very light, slow, rhythmical massage. The intension is to stimulate the lymph vessels that runjust below the skin and in many cases attach to the skin. Lymph drainagemassage drains excess fluids from the tissues returning them to the circulatorysystem. This means lymph drainage massage can help in many cases of fluidretention, from pregnancy, to injury. The lymph system is also a vital part ofyour immune system, meaning lymph drainage massage can stimulate your immunesystem during and after times of illness. It’s important in immunity, inflammation and healingin general, so an efficient lymphatic system is going to help in manyareas.  Lymphatic drainage is a way toachieve that efficiency. Skin care: For a clearer complexion and to lessenthe appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in facial tissue, as well as reducingpuffiness around the eyes. Old scar tissue can be reduced while the appearanceof new scars can be minimized. It’s commonly used before and after cosmeticsurgery. Detox: At the end of winter, or after a period ofhigh stress, the body will really benefit from lymphatic drainage, to reducethe sluggishness brought on by too many starchy, high fat foods and too littleexercise. Headache: Most headaches including sinusitis have acomponent of congestion that responds well to  lymphatic drainage.   Once tissueis decongested, blocked fluid and blood flow improve, reducing pain anddiscomfort. Promote healing: After surgery or injury, the tissuemay be swollen and sore. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle treatment that willhelp drain the tissue, reduce inflammation and improve healing. Pregnancy and after: There is often fluid retentionin pregnant women and lymphatic drainage can improve comfort especially in legsand feet.  Breast feeding will beenhanced by this treatment, especially when there are problems with blockedducts and sore tight breasts. Reduce swelling:

Pregnancy Massage €35 - €50
Massage, particularly in the last six weeks of pregnancy is very helpful for reducing muscle tension, especially in the back which is under a lot of strain with the weight of the growing baby.  I use the addition of pure mandarin essential oils which has a an extremely relaxing effect, as well as been good for stretch marks. A ten minute head massage is included at the end to aid with the relaxation process. Total treatment time 60 minutes.  There is also the option of a thirty minute back massage only.

Rating from 5 Reviews Felt relief even after treatmentNicola, Ireland, 02 Oct 15

My son found Eleanor to be extremely good and really worked into the area that he had problems with. He said even after treatment that he could feel relief. It's a little tender this morning but that's to be expected. We will be going back for another appointment. Easy to find and in a nice spot. Would recommend to others. Found our overall experience very pleasant and Eleanor treated my sons issue very well. Not only that but she showed him some leg exercises to do at home.
