Based in St Laurence OToole AC (former Curves gym), we provide morning and evening classes. The classes run in 6 week blocks, with 3 classes per morning and 3 classes per evening. Morning classes: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 9:30am. Evening classes: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30pm. Individual ClassesIndividual classes are also available in our clinic at 31 Staplestown Rd or we can come to your home. The individual class will be tailored to suit your needs, using our Pilates reformer at the clinic or mat Pilates in the comfort of your own home. How much does it cost?Classes: Classes cost €10 on a drop-in basis . Alternatively at the beginning of each block you can pay for 10 classes for €100 . If you go for this option, you get five classes free, saving €50! Individual Classes: Individual classes cost €50 per hour, where you have the choice of using the pilates reformer at the clinic.

Dry needling is the insertion of sterile single use acupuncture needles directly into myofascial (muscular) trigger points.  Trigger points are tight, tender knots within the muscle which cause and contribute to pain within the body.  Research studies have shown that inserting such needles into trigger points causes favourable biochemical changes within the body, which help reduce pain. Although dry needling uses the same needles as acupuncture, it is not the same technique.  Dry needling is strictly based upon Western medicine principles of treating myofascial trigger points, which are different to traditional acupuncture points. Dry needling can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal problems as the treatment of muscles with this technique can reduce pain mechanisms and break down pain cycles. It is best used in combination with the specific rehabilitation programme as prescribed by your physiotherapist.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy assessment and treatment

Eden Studios in Blackrock offers mat based Pilates classes and Fusion classes which is a mix of Yoga and Pilates.  Pilates exercises are used to strengthen the core of the body, front abdominal and back muscles. 

Yoga and Pilates classes can help improve posture and issues with the spine and skeleton.  When chosing a class opt for a style that works carefully on alignment, such as Iyengar yoga, and includes some core strengthening work such as pilates.  All our Fusion classes in our Blackrock Studio include core work, and our Saturday morning yoga class is specifically oriented towards correct alignment in postures.
