Ms Emer O'Grady - Practice Director at Aria Psychotherapy & Counselling

Ms Emer O'Grady

Job Title:
  Practice Director
Biography:

My primary qualification is as a Psychotherapist and I qualified with BSc Honours in 2008. I am an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy IACP. My psychotherapy approach is Integrative and I mainly work with Psychodynamic, Humanistic, CBT, BioEnergy Bodywork techniques and Family Constellations Therapeutic approaches.

O

ver the course of more than 16 years of continuous study and professional practice I have developed a highly effective intuitive therapeutic model of well-being. With a foundation grounded in the science of Integrative Psychotherapy, from there I expanded into Spirituality & Metaphysical Energy Healing. I now work from a highly developed conceptual and philosophical framework (A Course in Miracles, Vedanta, and Existentialism) combining psychotherapy with hands-on healing techniques and guidance.

On the metaphysical level I work within the consciousness of your energetic blueprint which includes the physical body, the chakras, and the various layers of the aura. This is consistently effective to clear trauma held within cellular memory, including ancestral healing. It releases unhealthy patterns, finding true freedom in life and promotes expansion of consciousness. The result is an holistic approach that promotes self sustaining physical, mental and emotional strength and well-being.

I work extensively with: Bereavement, Depression & Anxiety, Low self-esteem, Confidence issues, Relationships, Sexuality (LGBTQ), Grief, Loss, Separation & Relationship break-down, Addiction, Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse, Stress.

In addition to psychotherapy, I also offer hands-on Energy Healing and Crystal Healing, and I teach Meditation.

Ms Clodagh Monaghan - Practice Therapist at Aria Psychotherapy & Counselling

Ms Clodagh Monaghan

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Biography:
I am an Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I have achieved the correct qualifications and clinical experience to be recognised as a validated practitioner. I have a Person Centred approach to therapy as I believe we all have the ability within us to become the person we want to be. It is my role to facilitate this transition. I also use an integrated therapeutic approach based on the needs of my clients. This means that I understand what might be helpful for one person might not necessarily suit another. My approach can meet your unique needs and bring about the desired changes in your life. I work from a holistic viewpoint as I appreciate the connection between mind, body and spirit.

Supervision

I am an Accredited Supervisor with the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I enjoy this other professional dimension, working with fellow therapists and supervisors. I believe in supporting my supervisees whilst respecting their autonomy in their work. I provide the same holding environment to my supervisees as I do my clients, understanding that self reflection and process are an important parts of the supervisory relationship.

I have a particular interest in working with Student Therapists as they embark upon their course requirement of clinical hours.

Ms Charlotte Larmer - Practice Therapist at Aria Psychotherapy & Counselling

Ms Charlotte Larmer

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Biography:
My journey started with gaining a Sports Psychology Degree and Primary School Teaching Degree in 2000. Since then I have worked as a teacher in London and Dublin.

Our rapidly changing society keeps demanding more and more of us. The effects of this are evidenced in the increased prevalence of anxiety and stress illnesses across all ages. I was so encouraged by the consistent positive results of an Holistic approach to Wellness that I extended my training to include Life Coaching, NLP, EFT and became a Yoga & Mindfulness teacher.

I am passionate about the effectiveness of living a healthy holistic life. While I approach each person individually, there are some core fundamentals that can help you improve your well-being, inner strength, self belief and resilience.

Whether you have tried many times before this, or it's your first time to reach out - My aim is to journey with you from where you are now to stepping into your greatness and succeeding.

Working together I will incorporate a range of advanced tools to help you

Clarify what's holding you back

Change what's not working for you and

Get fulfilling and long lasting results in your life.

Together we can unleash the empowered confident person you naturally are at your best.

Job Title:

Biography:
Coming to counselling can be hard work at times, there's little point in pretending otherwise. It can be challenging to take an honest look at ourselves and get in touch with our emotional pain. Yet this is how we grow. How I work as a counsellor continually reflects this process and can be summarised as follows:

Transparent and down to earth approach

Flexible and individually focused

We work together as a team, I'll never tell you what you should do

I can think creatively outside of the box when needed

Confidential and discreet

I ask questions to aid exploration, not to catch you out. There are no wrong answers

I will never judge you. I'll always respect what you've been through and your point of view

More than listening. I help you to Identify strategies that can be used to convert your goals into reality

I adhere to professional ethical guidelines as outlined by The Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

It's ok if you have a laugh or if you want to cry

There's no pressure to move through the process. Take all the time you need

While I draw upon a number of different counselling approaches in my efforts to provide tailor made counselling for each individual I work with, the following are the main counselling styles I use:

Person Centred

Psychodynamic

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
