Conveniently located close to Dublin City centre (10 mins walk from O'Connell St; on the 46a bus route) The Healing House offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for various types of therapy. I am a pre-accredited counsellor, which means I'm working towards full accreditation.  I hold a BA (hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from ICHAS (the Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences) and am a pre-accredited member of the APCP and the BACP. I work in a humanistic and integrative way, using elements of theory from different schools of psychotherapy in order to help clients develop a stronger and healthier sense of themselves.  I believe people have the resources within themselves to find answers and resolve their difficulties but sometimes need some help on this often daunting journey.

Gave me the skills to work on for panic attacksJulie, Ireland, 11 01 16

Attended three months of counselling with Kristyna. I have dealt with Anxiety issues all my life and have been to many councillors over the years but I truly connected with Kristyna as she gave me skills to work on when a panic attacks appear. I felt I was being valued and listened to when I was in a session with Kristyna as I felt truly connected and present during most of my sessions even when I was not feeling great in myself. I would have no problem re-attending if I need to again.

Amazing, I woke up the following morning feeling empoweredRebecca, Ireland, 16 12 17

I struggle (extremely bad lately) with anxiety, when it gets out of hand I can't control my feelings and I get very depressed. Which is not in my nature at all! I thought this was my main and only problem that I was having. I was suffering at work, at home, being a single mother and I lost all confidence. I finally came to see Ann after been advised to do so. I have only had one appointment so far but I cannot wait to go back for another chat. Speaking to Ann was so easy I said so many things I knew I was feeling but I've never said it out loud. Once she asked the right questions that made me ramble on about these feelings, it's was unreal! Speaking to Ann made me realize how important it is to talk about your problems and how it has made me feel much calmer to face my issues. Amazing, I woke up the following morning feeling empowered! Can't wait for my next session.

These changes include: • Becoming more able to feel, identify and express emotions.• Making connections (e.g. between feelings and behaviours or past and present experiences).• Gaining a greater understanding of behaviours.• Developing effective emotional and practical coping strategies.• Re-evaluating perceptions and past experiences, this often leads us to become more self-accepting. You and the therapist will explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be causing emotional and physical distress. Initial Meeting This may be your first time entering therapy; here is a list of what we have seen to be true for many people about therapy: •It takes time to establish a trusting relationship with a therapist. •It is important to go at your own pace and not overwhelm yourself.  •We all resist change. Don’t be surprised if you are tempted to quit right before some real changes or breakthroughs are about to happen. •Becoming more healthy and balanced can feel very unfamiliar and uncomfortable at first. •Therapy is hard work. •Some therapy is short term (usually focusing on one issue and situation) and other therapy may be longer term (more than one or complex issues.)  •Expect your therapist to hold strong boundaries, be ethical, and treat you with respect.  •Remember that therapy, in the hands of a skilled therapist, is a powerful and life-changing experience. It has been shown to be effective for a variety of difficulties and problems. If you need therapy and work as an active participant in your own treatment, you can expect it will be well worth the time and money you invest.
