Many people decide to come to therapy when they feel life is not as it turned out to be and something is in need of a change. They seek professionals who are qualified, experienced and sensitive to help in addressing existing problems, traumatic events, depressive states or unresolved issues that may threaten to overwhelm or otherwise impact day to day functioning. Therapy Space - General Practice in Ireland

Therapy Space

Integrative Psychotherapy Practice, 143 Upper Rathmines Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6
Sometimes in life we can experience periods of inner conflict and confusion.  This may be due to traumatic past experiences or changes we may face in our lives presently. My practice offers a safe and confidential space in which to explore your issues with an experienced therapist. Counselling and Psychotherapy can help make sense of feelings, thoughts and behaviors which can cause inner conflict and confusion. This in turn can lead to a lesser quality of life. Making sense of these issue can help develop a greater sense of self awareness. I help bring about change by taking unconscious drives into a conscious space in which we can work together to implement meaningful change in your life. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist working from a Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytical framework. I also incorporate elements of Gestalt and Existential Psychotherapy in my work with clients.  I am a Pre-Accredited Member of the IACP ( Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy ) and I am an Associate Member of the IPAA ( Irish Psycho-Analytical Association ). I am fully insured to work within the guidelines and best practice of my associations and current government legislation. I hold a Certificate in Counselling Skills from NUI Maynooth and a B.Sc. A counselor that actually interacts with you instead of just letting you waffle on without resultsAlfie, Ireland, 13 12 17

I started seeing Ravind after a number of bad experiences with other counselors & their methods. It was my one last attempt at getting one to one help for my severe anxiety & panic attacks. I'm glad I did. Ravind has been amazing! A proper counselor that actually interacts with you instead of just letting you waffle on without getting any real results. Whilst it's a gradual ongoing process, I feel hundreds time better than I did when I first walked through the door. I can honestly say that without meeting Rav, I don't know how I'd have been able to get through the last year. I cannot recommend him enough. The clinic is great & I have recommended it to others that have all given positive feedback about their experiences.

Area Mentis Psychotherapy - Logo

Area Mentis Psychotherapy

1A Swanville Place, Rathmines, Dublin, d6
The Area Mentis Centre provides psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and psychological services for any individual experiencing mental pain. Our practitioners have dedicated their lives to the study of how people think, act and communicate.Talking is the cornerstone of the treatment the purpose of which is to learn about oneself. Through this process, practitioners help people to identify the source of their problems and address them. Each individual's treatment is characterised by an intensely personalised approach, greatly increasing the probability of change This treatment effects change through regular weekly sessions, in which the relationship between practitioner and client supports a therapeutic discourse. During treatment, the client develops insight and self-awareness, integrating those past events that may have been traumatic or unsayable into a coherent narrative. Supported by the relationship to the therapist/analyst, the individual can scrutinize the stress and suffering in their lives within the context of their life-history: where it originates, how it is manifested and what coping behaviours have evolved to deal with it.

I would recommend him to anyone who needs to talkKevin, Ireland, 18 09 16

I went to see John to speak about relationship problems. John listened to what I had to say and asked great probing questions. Every time I came out of a session I felt a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. This was the third counselor that I had seen over the past 3 years. I felt that I really gained a lot form these sessions. If I feel I need to speak with someone in the future it will definitely be John. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to talk. I chose this clinic because of location(Rathmines) and Johns availability(Evenings). He was not very expensive(€50) in comparison to some other clinics that I spoke with.

Young adult Psychotherapy
What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological, emotional, or behavior disorders through the communications between the client and a therapist. The goal of therapy is to establish a central relationship of trust in which the client or patient can feel free to express personal thoughts and emotions and thus gain insight into his condition and generally share in the healing power of words. (Britannica) Will it work for me? Many people feel a great deal of benefit from psychotherapy, some even after comparatively few meetings. Like any other treatment or life experience, psychotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. Each individual has to make up their own mind about whether therapy is helpful for them. Clinical experience shows that if you are motivated and set yourself realistic goals, psychotherapy is likely to be of benefit. How long will it take? The length of treatment will be determined by what you are offered following assessment. How often are the sessions? Most psychotherapy is once weekly, although sometimes client’s circumstances won’t allow for this, so an alternative arrangement will be made. How long does each session last? Individual psychotherapy sessions normally last fifty minutes. How much does it cost? A one on one session costs E85.00. What benefit should I feel afterwards? Research has shown that psychotherapy is effective in reducing symptoms, improving relationships and self esteem. However, as each person is an individual it is difficult to generalize at the beginning as to which benefits a person may feel. The exploration and the journey is often as important as the goal. Does it usually work? A great deal of research has been done which shows C.B.T to be effective. However, it only works as a catalyst with the person undergoing treatment. This means that in order for therapy to be effective, the "work" is not done to you - but by you and with you.Can I stop if I feel its not working? It is always possible to leav
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.

Would highly recommend her services and would advise anyone to not put it off as I had for yearsShane, Ireland, 28 02 20

I felt instantly at ease with Renata. I was very nervous before going in. She's very knowledgeable and she seems very humane which was something I worried about. Would highly recommend her services and would advise anyone to not put it off as I had for years. I'm working on some depression and anger management. One session in I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
