I am a fully accredited, integrative psychotherapist with a Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and have completed a Masters in Psychotherapy specialising in working with trauma. As a fully accredited psychotherapist, I abide by a strict code of ethics outlined by the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).I work with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, grief, self-esteem, addiction, identity, relationships, psychosexual issues, stress, personal growth and development and coping with illness.  I provide short-term counseling to those who need support to get through a particular event or time in their lives and longer term psychotherapy to those wishing to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships with others.  I adopt a Person-Centred approach to counselling and psychotherapy and provide an empathic, caring and confidential environment to enable individuals to speak about the situations, difficulties and experiences that cause them pain and distress. As an integrative psychotherapist my experience and training includes working with a range of approaches including Rogerian, Psychodynamic, CBT, Gestalt and Psychosynthesis. Young adult Psychotherapy
What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological, emotional, or behavior disorders through the communications between the client and a therapist. The goal of therapy is to establish a central relationship of trust in which the client or patient can feel free to express personal thoughts and emotions and thus gain insight into his condition and generally share in the healing power of words. (Britannica) Will it work for me? Many people feel a great deal of benefit from psychotherapy, some even after comparatively few meetings. Like any other treatment or life experience, psychotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. Each individual has to make up their own mind about whether therapy is helpful for them. Clinical experience shows that if you are motivated and set yourself realistic goals, psychotherapy is likely to be of benefit. How long will it take? The length of treatment will be determined by what you are offered following assessment. How often are the sessions? Most psychotherapy is once weekly, although sometimes client’s circumstances won’t allow for this, so an alternative arrangement will be made. How long does each session last? Individual psychotherapy sessions normally last fifty minutes. How much does it cost? A one on one session costs E85.00. What benefit should I feel afterwards? Research has shown that psychotherapy is effective in reducing symptoms, improving relationships and self esteem. However, as each person is an individual it is difficult to generalize at the beginning as to which benefits a person may feel. The exploration and the journey is often as important as the goal. Does it usually work? A great deal of research has been done which shows C.B.T to be effective. However, it only works as a catalyst with the person undergoing treatment. This means that in order for therapy to be effective, the "work" is not done to you - but by you and with you.Can I stop if I feel its not working? It is always possible to leav
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.

This programme is designed to instill into your mind a new programme of thinking. It will allow you to clear out your minds overload of stressful thoughts and enable you to think clearly. Once this sence of control and clarity has been achieved, Zak will build your confidence level to an all time high. This is easily accomplished using your imagination and Zaks renowned motivation techniques. Would highly recommend her services and would advise anyone to not put it off as I had for yearsShane, Ireland, 28 02 20

I felt instantly at ease with Renata. I was very nervous before going in. She's very knowledgeable and she seems very humane which was something I worried about. Would highly recommend her services and would advise anyone to not put it off as I had for years. I'm working on some depression and anger management. One session in I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Owen Smith - Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapist & Counsellor (M.Soc.Sc.  BA(Hons)  PostGrad Dip.   H.Dip.SP.) Hi! I'm Owen, a humanistic & integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. I work with a broad range of issues.  However I also specialise in LGBTQ+ and Gender, Sexual & Relationship Diversities (GSRD) therapy.  This means that I will provide full acceptance of who you are, regardless of how you identify. I view no person or issue as being more important than another. I see both of us working together as unique individuals.  I've seen how life can throw many different challenges which can cause us to question our sense of self. Yet I also believe that such challenges can offer us opportunities to develop and grow - perhaps even flourish! I work in collaboration with you, on your well-being journey. My aim is to help you find a better sense of who you are.  This is done in a safe & confidential space where you are listened to, heard and where you feel accepted for being yourself. What you bring, I feel we will be able to explore together, leading to greater self-acceptance & better inner peace Of course contacting a counsellor or therapist can feel daunting. I invite you to click on the link to my website, where you can learn a little about me and where you can see if you think I may be a good fit for you. If and when you are ready, feel free to get in touch, where we can have a brief chat and to see how I can help you on your well-being journey.
