I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with a Level 9 Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from University College Cork having completed four years of training in Turning Point Training Institute. I am an  accredited member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (I.A.H.I.P). I work with a wide range of issues which include relationships, family issues, trauma, grief, loss and bereavement, identity,  multi-cultural issues, self esteem and personal development, psychosexual issues, depression, anxiety, stress, bullying and work related issues . In my previous work as a solicitor I had over twenty years experience working with vulnerable clients and specialised in the areas of family law, equality law, childcare law and refugee law.   As a family lawyer I represented clients in stressful situations encompassing divorce, separation, custody, maintenance and domestic violence. In the area of equality I did a significant amount of work with gay, lesbian and transgender clients, clients with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities both in relation to employment and services. In the equality and refugee areas I worked with people from many different cultural backgrounds. My experience working with clients in these areas gave me a very important understanding and basis for my psychotherapy practice.  I provide both short term counselling and longer term psychotherapy on a one

She put you at ease instantly and it felt naturalJIAO, Ireland, 09 10 21

It was great to talk to Rachel. She put you at ease instantly and it felt natural and comfortable to speak things with her that you don't normally speak to people. She asked very good questions to strike your thoughts and help you gain insights into yourself and things. You might surprisingly see a part of you that you haven't seen before or you might interpret what happened in a more comforting and positive way, and therefore to help you heal and move on.

Psychotherapy works with unconscious processes to help support you in becoming more structured and better able to cope in your day to day life.  Looking at past traumas and childhood issues to help better understand present behaviour.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy up to €75
I work from a humanistic & psychodynamic framework, bringing in elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.  Working in general practice providing one to one therapy sessions for adults, some of the issues dealt with include;  Anxiety, Stress, Bereavement & Loss, Commitment issues, Eating Disorders, Sexual Difficulties, Addiction recovery, Abuse, Panic Attacks, Loss of Direction, Bullying, Relationship Difficulties, Stress, Trauma. I also have experience and work with clients who are suffering with Suicidal Thoughts and who Self Harm.
Counselling up to €75
Counselling works with more surface level issues like day to day difficulties and helps to focus on the issues that arise in your present life.  The difference between Psychotherapy & Counselling is that Psychotherapy works at a deeper level, looking at past traumas & child hood issues.  Counselling works more in the present with issues in day to day living. Counselling can help with difficulties in decision making, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, bullying.  Counselling can work short term giving support in a particular difficulty in your life and help you move forward.  A therapist may use both counselling and psychotherapy to help with the issues you are facing.

Overall every session with her was good for meJohn, Ireland, 29 09 24

Diamante my therapist was very pleasant, but at the same time asked me difficult questions. She probed deep into my past, and got me to express feelings that I hadn’t done with anyone before. Overall every session with her was good for me The only drawback for me is that I live over 100 miles from the clinic and I can only get an appointment on Saturday. A midweek appointment would be much easier for me.
