What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been the most widely researched therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that involves addressing a person’s problematic thinking styles and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Elmwood Centre offers relationship counselling in a safe and comfortable environment to co-habiting, married and same sex couples. We provide the space for couples to talk, listen and be heard. By working with a counsellor who possesses empathy and professional expertise, couples feel supported while working through the challenges in their intimate relationship. While being aware of the uniqueness of each individual, we also have the skills and experience to hear both sides of the story in complete confidence, without judgement and without taking sides.
