I organised to meet with John to discuss stress management during professional exams. In a previous set of previous exams I got quite sick. I kept vomiting and could not eat any food for the week of the exams. After seeing a doctor I became aware that the vomiting was due to stress. I was very happy with my experience. I met John 8 times. In most sessions we had casual relaxed conversations. He put me at ease during the conversations as I was quite wary at the start. John picked up on things I said which I would never have picked up on. He told me why I got so stressed and methods to reduce this stress in the next set of exams. I would definitely recommend.

Hard to describe my exact "condition" but acute social anxiety was the main one. I sought treatment as almost a last resort, I didn't really believe it would help me but wanted to try it so I wouldn't be left wondering "what if". Before the treatment, I had a very low opinion of Psychology in general, I thought it was all nonsense, to be honest. I had weekly one hour sessions with Renata. They lasted for about 4 months I think. First of all she's an amazing listener, its hard to describe what she does, but she exudes empathy, shes instantly with you in whatever you're dealing with, almost like she's feeling it too. She's also incredibly smart and insightful, always showing you a different way to look at things that never even occurred to me, but then seemed obvious when she says it. I can't imagine there's anyone who would not benefit from seeing Renata. She changed my outlook in such fundamental ways that I struggle to understand how I held some of the negatives beliefs I had 6 months ago. She's a very dedicated professional and a wonderful person in general. I'll always be grateful for the help she's given me and I know I'll never forget her. Thank you so much, Renata. The clinic itself is grand, clean and comfortable as you'd expect.

I contacted Marcello in March 2018 because I was dealing with a strong fear of flying and I was avoiding to take aeroplanes for 1 year (during which I worked with other professionals with no success). Four months after I started to fly again, and I took 5 flights before the end of the year. We worked a lot on the connections between fear and my life so that I learned a lot about how to manage myself in many difficult situations. I believe that Marcello has great talent as a psychotherapist. I liked a lot the fact that his approach is oriented to achieving practical results and changing everyday life for the better. Highly recommended!

What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological, emotional, or behavior disorders through the communications between the client and a therapist. The goal of therapy is to establish a central relationship of trust in which the client or patient can feel free to express personal thoughts and emotions and thus gain insight into his condition and generally share in the healing power of words. (Britannica) Will it work for me? Many people feel a great deal of benefit from psychotherapy, some even after comparatively few meetings. Like any other treatment or life experience, psychotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. Each individual has to make up their own mind about whether therapy is helpful for them. Clinical experience shows that if you are motivated and set yourself realistic goals, psychotherapy is likely to be of benefit.How long will it take?The length of treatment will be determined by what you are offered following assessment. How often are the sessions? Most psychotherapy is once weekly, although sometimes client’s circumstances won’t allow for this, so an alternative arrangement will be made. How long does each session last? Individual psychotherapy sessions normally last fifty minutes. How much does it cost? A one on one session costs E85.00. What benefit should I feel afterwards? Research has shown that psychotherapy is effective in reducing symptoms, improving relationships and self esteem. However, as each person is an individual it is difficult to generalize at the beginning as to which benefits a person may feel. The exploration and the journey is often as important as the goal. Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist.
