Rating from 21 Reviews I felt lighter, more content and more enabled to deal with life after each sessionLorna, Ireland, 25 Mar 18

I went to see Brian due to some issues I was experiencing at work which had begun to affect my whole outlook on myself and my life. Brian immediately made me feel comfortable about talking through these issues and helped me to see them in a different light. I looked forward to the consultations as I felt lighter, more content and more enabled to deal with life after each session. I had felt guilty initially that my problems were minimal in comparison to the issues other people can experience. However, Brian made me realize that it was OK to seek this help for myself. I never at any time felt pressured to make another appointment, which I appreciated. Brian also suggested some ways of coping after I completely finished this counseling and they have really helped. My experience with Brian was excellent. He is calming, professional, reassuring and easy to talk to and is completely suited to this type of work. I chose to attend Brian's clinic based on the reviews on this site which are completely accurate.

At some time or another we all face difficulties and challenges in our lives. At times these troubles can feel overwhelming leaving us feeling helpless and alone. People seek therapy for many different issues such as Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, Loss, Bereavement or Addiction issues. At other times people have issues which are deeply entrenched, that have been ‘bubbling away’ for some time and are now seeking attention. Talking with an accredited therapist can help alleviate the stress and help a person learn to cope with their situation in a better way.

Rating from 5 Reviews I can happily say she helped me change my life for the betterJoe, Dublin, 15 Sep 17

I was a first timer to therapy and felt very nervous about starting. I had really bad anxiety and found Bernie on WhatClinic. I never thought I'd attend therapy in my life to be honest but I feel so lucky to have found Bernie straight away. From the moment I called her to book my first appointment I felt at ease. She's amazing at what she does, I can happily say she helped me change my life for the better, my anxiety hasn't popped it's head up since. I'd recommend Bernie to anyone that needs help whether it be big or small, I left her sessions feeling fantastic. It has improved my personal life, relationship and career. Thanks Bernie! Bernie is one of the nicest people I've met, from the get-go she is so welcoming. As I said as a first timer I was nervous about going to therapy but she makes you feel so comfortable and welcome. I really looked forward to my sessions weekly. After my first session already I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and as it went on it left me feeling like a brand new person.

Carolyn Duggan Counselling & Psychotherapy - CAROLYN DUGGAN

Carolyn Duggan Counselling & Psychotherapy

118 The Park , Sallins Rd, Naas, Kildare, 1
Rating from 28 Reviews She is extremely friendly, compassionate and genuinely caresJane, Ireland, 20 Mar 18

I have suffered with anxiety/depression since I was a child and I am now in my forties. Initially, I was told it was depression but in later years and my work with Carolyn, I discovered that I suffer more with anxiety. To anyone outside my inner circle of friends and family they would say I was a very happy, funny, outgoing person with not a care in the world, but alas behind closed doors things were different. Different things triggered my anxiety and on occasions leading to depression. I have a young family, working full time and last year everything got on top of me. I felt I could not do my work or look after my family. I was not sleeping, was panicky and crying constantly. I felt I could not breathe, I could not make a decision, it came to the stage I could not even write a shopping list without breaking down. I had heard a lot about CBT and when I went to Carolyn this is all I wanted but thankfully she knew best and introduced me to ACT and incorporated CBT in later sessions when I was ready for it. ACT for me was key to helping me as it allowed me to understand why I was so anxious but also how to look forward and what I wanted from the future. I have been to many a counseling session over the years so when I have crippled with anxiety again last year I did not want to try another counselor but my husband persuaded me after finding Carolyn's details online, reading client reviews and how their situations were similar to mine that I should contact her. I am so grateful I found Carolyn, my only regret is that I did not meet her sooner. She is extremely friendly, compassionate and genuinely cares. I still remember ringing Carolyn for the first time from my car outside work, she sensed my panic and upset and gave me so much time that morning, explaining her work and how she may help me. My initial sessions were talking through what was causing my immediate anxiety and Carolyn provided me with various techniques to assist with my anxiety on a daily basis and then throughout my sessions. Carolyn helped me recognize thought/thinking patterns that triggered and prolonged my anxiety allowing me to nip it before it consumed me. I still get anxious at times but thanks to Carolyn I can manage it and a bonus out of my ACT sessions with Carolyn is understanding my values. I use to laugh at this idea of values but I actually did not truly understand what it meant and how they provide direction and clarity for what you want in life. Thank you so much, Carolyn...

Dublin Psychotherapy

62 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D2
Rating from 15 Reviews I found his approach very respectful and full of insight at the same timeDomenico, Dublin, 20 Sep 18

I've contacted Marcello after having closed a treatment with another psychotherapist during 2017. I found here a non-judgemental place where step by step I could open myself and explain the reason/s that brought me to ask his help. I found his approach very respectful and full of insight at the same time. This gave me the opportunity to understand better my behaviour, what beliefs were limiting my social and private life. Now after almost 8 months I feel more confident in taking actions, less strict with myself and more open to experimenting my personal way to achieve my potential. With the conviction that getting better is mainly a process than a result and even sometimes I don't get what I want. I may always enjoy my path towards this progress, being less self-critical than I was before. I choose Dublin Psychotherapy mainly because as Italian I was looking for the same mother-tongue therapist.
