I went to see Brian due to some issues I was experiencing at work which had begun to affect my whole outlook on myself and my life. Brian immediately made me feel comfortable about talking through these issues and helped me to see them in a different light. I looked forward to the consultations as I felt lighter, more content and more enabled to deal with life after each session. I had felt guilty initially that my problems were minimal in comparison to the issues other people can experience. However, Brian made me realize that it was OK to seek this help for myself. I never at any time felt pressured to make another appointment, which I appreciated. Brian also suggested some ways of coping after I completely finished this counseling and they have really helped. My experience with Brian was excellent. He is calming, professional, reassuring and easy to talk to and is completely suited to this type of work. I chose to attend Brian's clinic based on the reviews on this site which are completely accurate.

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy  
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.

What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological, emotional, or behavior disorders through the communications between the client and a therapist.
