I’m a fully qualified, pre-accredited humanistic and integrative psychotherapist working in Dublin City and online. If you are struggling with issues related to relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, loneliness, ADHD, neurodivergence, major life changes, low self-esteem, assertiveness, or stress, or would like to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, I provide a reliable, safe, neurodivergence-affirmative, confidential, client-centred environment, and the supportive, therapeutic relationship you may be looking for. I offer neurodivergence-affirmative therapy to adults who have been diagnosed early or late in life, are self-diagnosed, or are exploring the possibility and interested in learning more about themselves. I work with individuals, and draw on psychodynamic, existential, cognitive-behavioural, and Gestalt therapies, among others. 

My aim is to help you achieve your goals, helping you overcome your limiting beliefs and possible emotional issues that are preventing you from living the life you want, making you also emotionally resilient in the process. This means you will be able to continue your life journey with self-confidence in your abilities to face future challenges. All my work is a conjunction of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy as well as Neuro-Linguistic Programming and counselling. All work is carried out in a relaxed state (a hypnotic trance) which enables real change to take place thanks to work done with your subconscious mind. You will be aware at all time and my work is bound by a strict code of ethics.

I’m Carmel Farnan, a Psychotherapist and Counsellor with a double qualification in Psychotherapy and Psychology, and over 25 years of clinical experience, offering online counselling to clients across Ireland, Europe, USA and Australia. I offer a warm, confidential and professional online counselling service, supporting clients with issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood, depression, relationship difficulties and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, practical and tailored to your individual needs. As well as working with all the traditional therapeutic approaches, I am also trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, an evidence-based approach designed to help many clients achieve meaningful change in a relatively small number of sessions. In addition I am the founder of the Irish and British Mindfulness Academies, integrating mindfulness with cognitive therapy, where helpful.
