I have been referred to Mr Karoo twice for removal pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions and on both occasions he performed the necessary procedures on an urgent basis as dictated by my condition. I could not have had better treatment or value. Mr Karoo also has special communicative skills and his friendly approach encourages confidence and minimum anxiety. This cascades down to his excellent, dedicated staff who will always go the extra mile to ensure that everything goes smoothly and efficiently to the patients needs and circumstances. I have recently had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my face and a graft done. (Mr Small had completed a similar procedure on my nose in 2019.) Everything was explained upfront and the procedure carried out at my first visit. His expertise is second to none. In fact, from reception right through to the nursing staff and surgical team, you are made to feel welcome and valued. I was an NHS referral on both occasions, but this made no difference to my treatment, it was first class. I am currently having to follow up checks by the nursing team and later, a follow-up phone consultation with the plastic surgeon is scheduled.

I had breast surgery. This no-frills private hospital was not luxurious in decor in the private rooms, the blinds looked shabby and the walls were painted a nondescript cream. It was very hot as the room faced west and it was a hot summers day of 30c. Air conditioning in reception and theatre but not on the ward. The only food I was offered post op for an overnight stay was toast, I was not given a menu to make a choice, I asked if I could have ice cream told they do not stock it but was offered a yoghurt instead. Breakfast was again toast or cereal. The procedure went well and I cannot fault the medical or nursing team. I was checked on frequently and the care I received was first class. I do feel though that some attention should be paid to the decor on the wards, air conditioning for the wards, and improve the food on offer, as I felt the catering was worse than NHS provision. After all, it is a private hospital and I expected a little bit of luxury to be standard for the price I was paying for the procedure. The staff were polite yet friendly and professional. I was checked on regularly post op and when I rang for assistance help was quick in coming. However, I later found out there were only two overnight patients. The care I received was excellent, with staff washing hands before approaching and on leaving.

I called the Harley Street Clinic after my friend told me to ask for Michael I wanted a breast enlargement. Michael spent 40 mins chatting to me and listened to exactly what I wanted, he actually recommended my surgeon and sorted everything out for me. Throughout I was looked after so well, this company really cares. I didn’t want a huge enlargement just natural. Highly recommended.

Reception staff and the nurse involved were both very friendly and welcoming. Dr Toby Nelson carried out cryotherapy. He explained in detail what would happen and checked that I understood and was happy for him to proceed.
