What are Damon Braces?

The Damon system of braces uses a new method for straightening teeth. They are called self-ligating braces. They are fixed braces that do not use elastic bands to secure the wire woven through brackets like conventional braces. They use a metal clip or a door to secure the wire. The clip or door uses a sliding mechanism to open and close and keep the wire secure. The number of orthodontic appointments are fewer and the length of time to adjust Damon braces is shorter. They straighten teeth faster. It takes about one hour to fit Damon braces for patients.  Patient of all ages can wear Damon braces and they offer metal and clear brackets.

How long should I wear Damon Braces?

Damon braces take six months to two years to straighten teeth.

Is fitting Damon Braces painful?

Fitting Damon braces is not painful. Patients will feel uncomfortable for a few days or a week till they get used to wearing Damon braces. The braces are low friction appliances and the pressure exerted is not uncomfortable.

What care is required after fitting Damon Braces?

Patients should follow the diet prescribed by the dentist after fitting Damon braces. They should not eat hard or chewy food. They should follow proper dental hygiene and brush and floss their teeth correctly. Patients should use a fluoride toothpaste and mouth rinse while wearing Damon braces.

I went to Smile Makeover because of the good reviews. I had some work done to replace older crowns. They have clean facilities, friendly staff, decent pricing and are as modern as any U.S. facility. However, when all is said and done I wish I'd gone elsewhere.

I had terrible lower molar tooth decay, which had to be removed immediately. I consulted Dr.Sidharth Shankar at SMILEKRAFT dental clinic located in Koramangala. The minute I entered the clinic the place felt like a HOME. The front office staff were very courteous. The X-ray showed the depth of the problem and there was an L below the molar tooth my gums were very strong but the ease with which Dr.Sidharth,Dr. Bhavna and team removed the tooth was just mind-blowingly smooth. Just did not feel the pain. Hats off to TEAM SMILEKRAFT. Thank you guys, You Rock.

Highly recommended! I've had wonderful experiences with Truth Dental. I've seen them for a crown replacement, teeth whitening, cavity fillings, and to repair a chipped front tooth. The staff is friendly and professional. They have excellent communication. My dentist, Dr. Noosh, and her team are fantastic. They are knowledgeable, skilled, and have an excellent bedside manner. I was nervous about several procedures and they made sure to explain everything to me in a very patient and kind manner. I appreciated that. All of the work they have done on me is 5-stars. Damon braces requires regular treatment visit every 2-3 months for wire adjustment.If you don't live in Thailand, you need to be able to visit us regularly to accomplish this treatment.

Crown requires at least 2 visits. First visit is for the tooth preparation and second visit is for the cementation. There is about 3-5 days between first and second visit for laboratory processing. However, in case that you require a lot of works, we may require additional visit for preparation and cementation. One tooth takes about 1 hour for preparation and 30 minutes for crown cementation. In case of several teeth involved, we will perform the treatment only 3-5 hours maximum depending on each patient. Therefore, we have to set up more than 2 visits for multiple crowns case.
