The Damon system of braces uses a new method for straightening teeth. They are called self-ligating braces. They are fixed braces that do not use elastic bands to secure the wire woven through brackets like conventional braces. They use a metal clip or a door to secure the wire. The clip or door uses a sliding mechanism to open and close and keep the wire secure. The number of orthodontic appointments are fewer and the length of time to adjust Damon braces is shorter. I had a number of fillings done at this clinic. I chose them because it seemed convenient, the staff spoke English and they had good online ratings. Even though the dentist used anaesthesia, I still experienced a bit of pain. I’d say I’m 75% satisfied with the work done. However, compared to the rates I’m used to paying in the States, it’s definitely still a win. The area the clinic’s situated was a bit rundown, but the place inside was very clean. Staff were also lovely. They knew I’d only be in the area for a week or two, but told me I was more than welcome to return in six months or a year for a check-up. I had an issue with one of the fillings that came loose, but the others are all still okay.
