This is my eleventh week and I'm amazed at the difference he's made to my life

Mrs Susan Dunne

Biography:
Susan began her studies in Philosophy before being introduced to Psychotherapy. After completing a BA in Philosophy she proceeded to complete a Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Psychoanalytic Studies and followed this up with a Masters in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Her work in Philosophy gave Susan an interest in research and writing which she carried into her studies and practice in Psychotherapy. During the MA Susan had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical and community settings. Susan gained important clinical experience while working with the Psychiatric Team in The Mater Misericordiae Hospital and The National Maternity Hospital Holles Street. Susan also worked with pupils in St. Audoens National School and with young people in The Tower Programme Probation Project in North Clondalkin. Most recently, Susan spent a year working with clients in DIT’s (Dublin Institute of Technology) Student Counselling Service where she gained invaluable experience working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team. Susan currently works privately as a psychoanalytic practitioner.

Mr Gerry Byrne

Biography:
Gerry comes from a business background having been self employed in retail and property sectors for over 20yrs. He began his studies by completing an Honours Bachelors degree in Psychology. Subsequent to this Gerry went on to achieve a Masters in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy. He has also qualified as a Certified Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotherapists. Gerry has a broad range of clinical experience ranging from multi-disciplinary team structures within Mater Misericordiae Hospital Dublin, Lucena Clinic in Tallaght. He has seen clients referred to him by Department of Liaison Psychiatry in the Mater Hospital, and as member of the counseling structure of Shine over a 3yr period. Gerry currently works as a counselor for Shine and works privately as a practitioner in Wicklow Town.

Mr Colin McDonnell

Biography:
Colin has worked for a decade within clinical and social settings. During this ten year period valuable experience has been accumulated within a variety of environments in both general and specialised fields of treatment. Namely, Colin has worked within Connolly Hospital, Grangegorman, Stewart’s Hospital, Our Lady’s Hospice, Dublin Institute of Technology and two projects addressing drug addiction. Following this period Colin became a founding partner of ‘Psychotherapy Dublin.’ Complimenting Colin’s clinical experience is a history of continued professional development. Having completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology Colin went on to complete a Master of Arts in Addiction Studies and a Master of Arts in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Ms Amanda Lynch

Biography:
Amanda began her studies with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in the theoretical study of Psychoanalysis. Following from this Amanda completed a Masters in Addiction Studies gaining much experience in the field throughout her studies. From there Amanda earned a Masters in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy whilst gaining experience from clinical, social and educational settings including the National Maternity Hospital, Stewart’s Hospital Palmerstown and the Lucena Clinic. In previous years Amanda has gained experience working in numerous clinical settings in varied fields including addiction and child and adolescent therapy. Amanda is currently a psychotherapist at Dublin Institute of Technology and Addiction Response Crumlin. Amanda is a Co-Founder and private practitioner at Psychotherapy Dublin.

Ms Sarah-Anne Connelly

Biography:
Sarah-Anne began her studies with a History and Politics degree before going on to complete an Honours Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Following this, Sarah-Anne accomplished a 3 year Masters Degree in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. During the MA, Sarah-Anne gained valuable experience working within multi-disciplinary teams in Rossecourt – Stewarts Hospital, Holles Street Maternity Hospital, the NYP Project in Mounttown and R.A.S.P., a community drugs rehabilitation programme. Since 2002, Sarah-Anne has worked with teenagers with behavioural, emotional and learning difficulties, in educational and residential care settings both in the US and Ireland. Sarah-Anne continues to work with teenagers in residential care, with adults in a drug rehabilitation programme and as a private psychoanalytic practitioner in the psychotherapeutic setting.
