BCG Vaccine $98 - $122
 - 80 pounds for babies  - 100 pounds for Adults BCG is the vaccine against TB or tuberculosis. A mantoux skin test is needed prior to BCG vaccination to check it’s safe to have the vaccine. In addition, many health care workers and many people planning to study or work abroad, particularly in the USA need a Mantoux test to show they do not have TB. The test involves a small injection in the arm, with a review 2 - 3 days later to ‘read’ the result. Mantoux testing or the alternative, TB gold or quantiferon testing, can be used to test whether someone has caught TB.

Hampstead Heath Travel and Vaccination Clinic - General Practice in the UK
4.4 from 7 verified reviews
I was very impressed by the care taken to check my medical historyRos, UK, 15 12 17

I wanted a vaccination against shingles. I am too young for the NHS guidelines to provide it and have been waiting some months for a supply to arrive in a number of private pharmacies. As soon as stock was available, Hampstead Heath Travel emailed me. The next day - yesterday- I had my injection. They were very efficient to notify me so promptly as soon as the supply was available and I am glad to have got the injection some days before Christmas. Impressed on entering by the cleanliness and order in the pharmacy. More importantly, I was very impressed by the care taken to check my medical history and less obviously, but more important to me, to answer my questions about wisdom of visiting post vaccination my terminally ill sister-in-law, after she has received chemo and radiotherapies, resulting in her diminished immune system. If I need more travel or other vaccinations I would very happily return to the Hampstead Heath Clinic.

Vaccination
Whooping cough (pertussis) up to $98
Whooping cough (pertussis) Price per dose: £80 Number of doses for primary course: 1 Minimum dose intervals: – Age: 3+ When a booster dose given (in years): Not required
MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) up to $45
MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) Price per dose: £37 Number of doses for primary course: 2 Minimum dose intervals: 4 weeks Infants from 6 months of age travelling to measles endemic areas or to an area where there is a current outbreak should receive MMR (Green Book, chapter 21). On 8 February 2019, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported that measles continues to be transmitted across Europe this year. Young people, healthcare workers and those who are not fully vaccinated remain at highest risk of measles. Travel may increase an individual’s risk of exposure to measles virus, and facilitate the spread of disease to unvaccinated and susceptible populations. Vaccination should be considered for: All travellers who have not previously had two doses of a measles containing vaccine or prior measles infection. Particularly children and those who will be living or working closely with the local population at their destination, in countries with high endemnicity or recent outbreaks. There is now overwhelming evidence that MMR does not cause autism. Also, it has been suggested that combined MMR vaccine could potentially overload the immune system. From the moment of birth, humans are exposed to countless numbers of foreign antigens and infectious agents in their everyday environment. Responding to the three viruses in MMR would use only a tiny proportion of the total capacity of an infant’s immune system. The three viruses in MMR replicate at different rates from each other and would be expected to reach high levels at different times (Green Book, chapter 21).

The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and politeVida, UK, 26 11 21

I have never written a review all my life. I have my own reasons though. I could not wait to share my experience with this chemist when I went there yesterday 25th November 2021. The environment was superb. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and polite. The pharmacist dealt with me. She knows her job really well, was patient and calm and very respectable. I extend my gratitude to her and the entire staff. Keep up with good work. God bless and have a great day.

Shingles Vaccine from $182
What is Shingles? Shingles is an infection of a nerve and the area of skin supplied by the nerve. It is caused by a virus called the Varicella-zoster virus (this is the same virus that causes chickenpox). Shingles is sometimes called Herpes zoster. The symptoms of Shingles starts with tingling or burning in an area of the skin and is followed by the eruption of a painful rash usually on one side of the body or face that takes 2-4 weeks to resolve.  Shingles can occur at any age, but it is most common in people over the age of 50 years. About 1 in 4 people develop Shingles during their lifetime. It is also possible to get Shingles more than once, although fortunately fewer than 10% of people who have a first attack will have another one. Can Shingles be prevented? The good news is that there is now a Shingles vaccine available to people aged 50 and over. It has been shown to be effective in reducing the risk of older people developing Shingles, and even if you do develop Shingles then the disease is likely to affect you less severely. A national immunisation programme is available for those aged 70 - 79, but is being introduced in phases.  Can I be vaccinated privately? At Armada Travel Clinic we can offer it for those aged 50 or over. The vaccine is a single dose injection at a cost of £149. Please contact Armada Travel Clinic for further information or to book an appointment.
