What is a root canal procedure?

Root canal procedures, or endodontics, is a treatment for the inner pulp of the tooth. They are performed to save teeth from extraction. The dentist or endodontist, a root canal specialist, cleans out the decayed or damaged pulp without breaking the exterior of the tooth root. The cleaned root canal is filled with a bio-compatible rubber-like material called gutta-percha. They are also performed for patients with damaged teeth caused by accidents or fractures. The procedure takes one to two hours to complete.

I am from Cheshire England. I had root canals, fillings and crowns replaced at Sanita. The service I received from Jeran the dentist was of the highest quality. They had all the specialist equipment and they made the crowns in the lab on site. I am 58 years old and didn't to expect the crown replacements, for the first time in my life to give me straight teeth. I am so pleased and would highly recommend this dentist. All the staff were lovely.

I visited Alan Clinic due to a concern that I had with an existing temporary crown and what appeared to be an abscess above it. My dental hygiene has been poor for far too long and I was quite embarrassed actually to go, but I'd put things off for far too long. The care I have received throughout the extensive work required has been exceptional and far exceeded my expectations. The result I have now, is a healthier mouth, a smile that I'm actually proud of and most of all I'm pain free whilst eating and drinking. I always say the same thing to my children and that is 'look after your teeth kids'.....my advice if you need to have dentistry work is don't hesitate to head over to Alan Clinic in İstanbul. You'll be in exceptional hands. I can't recommend them highly enough.

If I could give 10 stars I would. From the first moment I contacted Fiona, I knew they were the company for me, she had also had the surgery and talked me through the surgery process and life afterwards. Arriving in Izmir just confirmed everything else, the pre-op tests were amazingly thorough have found out that I have an underactive and this could account for symptoms I was worried about but fobbed off at home and blamed on my weight. I’d been worried about the language barrier but I’m so grateful for the TrustMed team even though the nurses had limited English, the TrustMed team were there to translate everything for me and my companion. The care they took for my companion went above and beyond, constantly kept my sister up to date and even took my wife’s number to call her at home. They are an amazing team, hardworking and considerate. The aftercare is amazing, rapid response and so insightful. I highly recommend this wonderful team if you're thinking about having surgery. I had a very good experience with this dentist! They did an amazing job on my teeth and they are all so kind and care so much for their patients. All the doctors that worked with me were really careful and treated me right! I won't lie though the only reason I put 4 stars is because they took too long to work on me. But with the outcome it was worth the wait. The lady that set up my appointment and assisted me was so sweet and did a great job with customer service (her name is Sally). Overall I definitely recommend this place to others who are looking for a change in their appearance but don't know who to go to, you should for sure check this place out!!!

The first step to root canal treatment is the numbing of the affected tooth and the use of a rubber dam. A rubber dam is placed around the affected tooth and its purpose is to prevent saliva, which contains bacteria, from re-contaminating the tooth while the treatment is performed. Following that, the root canal treatment begins and a small hole is drilled into the affected tooth. This is done to give access to the pulp chamber of the tooth to the dentist. The placing of the hole varies between back teeth (hole is made on the chewing surface of the tooth) and front teeth (hole is made on the tooth's backside.) From this point, the tooth is cleaned out and any bacteria, toxins, nerve tissue, and related debris within the tooth are removed. The cleaning process extends the entire length of the tooth's root canal(s) but not beyond. Following the cleaning portion of the root canal procedure is the filling in and sealing up of the tooth's root's interior with root canal filling material. The hole that was drilled in order for access to the tooth's root is then sealed with the placing of a filling. Patients who visit the dentist periodically may not need any root canal therapy.
