Root canal treatment is commonly used to treat toothaches and tooth pulp problems. The cost of root canal treatment varies by its complexity and whether it is an anterior, pre-molar or molar tooth.

BIDC is one of the few dental clinics in Bangkok with an endodontic microscope for complex root canal treatments. The Carl Zesis dental microscope enables endodontists to see and clean tooth roots with high detail. Root canal treatments are done by certified endodontists at BIDC. Root canal treatments may take one or several visits depending on the severity of the tooth root infection. After root canal is completed, temporary fillings are done. Thereafter a post or pin is inserted in the tooth and a crown in strenghtening the overall tooth is made.

Wisdom teeth are third molars. Normally people have three permanent molars that develop in each quadrant of the mouth. The third molars usually will try to grow in at around age 18 to 20 years. Wisdom teeth are actually no different than any other tooth except that they are the last teeth to erupt. They are just as useful as any other tooth if they grow in properly, have a proper bite relationship, and have healthy gum tissue around them. Unfortunately, this does not always happen.When wisdom teeth are prevented from erupting into the mouth properly, they are referred to as impacted. A dentist must examine a patients mouth and corresponding x-rays to determine if the teeth are impacted or will not grow in properly. Impacted teeth may cause problems. Here are several common problems that occurs when the impacted wisdom teeth are not removed: bacteria and plaque build-up, decay of adjacent teeth, formation of cysts (a fluid- filled sac) or tumors from follicle, tumor development, infection, jaw and gum disease. Erupted wisdom teeth may need to be removed. The dentist may recommend wisdom tooth removal if wisdom tooth: interferes with the bite, non-functional, badly decayed, involved with or at risk for periodontal diseas, interferes with restoration of an adjacent tooth.

When a tooth has deep decay, large & deep fillings, cracked or fractured due to accident or excessive wear of enamel due to grinding, there will be a sign of pulp damaged which includes pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat and cold discoloration of the tooth (very dark gray or brown), swelling, tenderness of the overlying gums or a bad taste in the mouth.Root Canal Treatment saves the teeth that would otherwise been extracted. Today, Root Canal Treatment is done in one visit, maximum 2 visits. One Visit Root Canal: At Dr. Sunil Dental Clinic, our Root Canal Specialist can complete most of the cases in one visit, not more than 2 hours. The exceptional cases are extremely infected teeth that are complicated from the last procedures, or complex cases, will take 2 visits in the gap of 1-2 weeks. Here, before we start the Root Canal Treatment, our specialist makes sure that the case is 1 or 2 visits so that our patient can choose other options if the duration of stay is short. Root Canal Treatment procedures are relatively comfortable and often Painless as the teeth is anaesthetized during the treatment. After the treatment, the tooth may be sensitive or tender for few days.
