What is a root canal procedure?

Root canal procedures, or endodontics, is a treatment for the inner pulp of the tooth. They are performed to save teeth from extraction. The dentist or endodontist, a root canal specialist, cleans out the decayed or damaged pulp without breaking the exterior of the tooth root. The cleaned root canal is filled with a bio-compatible rubber-like material called gutta-percha. They are also performed for patients with damaged teeth caused by accidents or fractures. The procedure takes one to two hours to complete.

What are the types of root canal procedures?

Primary root canal treatments are performed using stainless steel files. Stainless steel files could remove only a small amount of infection and could easily break. The more advanced and flexible nickel titanium files do not break easily and are able to clean the entire infected area easily. Rotary instruments used to clean the root canal are quicker than manual instruments. Other advanced root canal procedures make use of ultrasound or laser to effectively clean the root canal.

Is a root canal procedure painful?

Root canal procedures are performed under local anaesthetic. Patients will not feel pain during the procedure.

What is the recovery time after having a root canal procedures?

Patients take about three days to recover after a root canal procedure. Some patients require a week to recover from a root canal procedure.

When can I travel by air after a root canal procedure?

It is safe to travel by air one day after a root canal procedure. Patients should check with their dentist before embarking on their journey. If they feel pain or discomfort, they should postpone their journey until it abates.

What care is required after a root canal procedure?

Patients should take all prescribed medications correctly. They should not eat until the anaesthetic wears off. They should not eat or drink very hot or very cold food for at least a week. They should avoid eating hard food or sticky food. If swelling occurs they should sleep with their head raised for a few days to bring it down.

What are the alternatives to root canal procedures?

Alternatives to root canal procedures include extractions and pulp capping procedures.

Tooth is made up of three layers such as enamel, dentine, and pulp (nerve & blood vessels) the inner most layer. When a tooth has deep decay, large & deep fillings, cracked or fractured due to accident or excessive wear of enamel due to grinding, there will be a sign of pulp damaged which includes pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat and cold discoloration of the tooth (very dark gray or brown), swelling, tenderness of the overlying gums or a bad taste in the mouth.Root Canal Treatment saves the teeth that would otherwise been extracted. At Dr. Sunil Dental Clinic, using state-of-the-art dental equipment and highly professional and experienced dentists, let us help you take care of your dental needs here in Bangkok, Thailand and Save Money!!Before dental implants, we were limited in how we were able to replace missing teeth. Options included fixed bridges, which often required the reduction of adjacent teeth to replace a missing tooth, or removable dentures. Implant dentistry allows us to replace individual teeth, without altering adjacent natural teeth. Dental implants help retain jawbone and anchor dentures, bridges and crowns firmly in place.A dental implant is a small “anchor”. It is inserted into the jawbone to take the place of your missing tooth root. A prosthetic replacement tooth is then secured to the top of the implant. Dental implants offer a more permanent solution for replacing lost teeth. The Benefits of Dental Implants: More healthful and beautifulWhen teeth are missing, the surrounding bone begins to shrink. This unhealthy bone loss can make your jaw line recede. Implant dentistry can help prevent deterioration of the jawbone caused by loss of teeth, so your face retains its natural shape. More ComfortableBecause dental implants are securely anchored, there is no slipping or movement as there is with dentures. This eliminates some of the key worries of dentures, including poor fit, gum irritation, and pain from exposed nerves.More ConfidentWith dental implants, you’ll never need to cover your mouth when laughing, smiling, or speaking. You can eat your favorite foods without pain or fear of embarrassment. You will look better, feel better, and live more confidently.Dental  Implant is a root form titanium screw-like prosthesis fixture that serves as a replacement for the

The service from all involved was excellentMartin, Thailand, 06 01 25

I am English and have been in Thailand for 5 weeks. I sent a message to the clinic at 8 am on 24th December. I had a loose tooth causing some pain and discomfort. Their website showed the opening time at 10 am. At 10:02 am I received a call from them and had an appointment for late afternoon. The service from all involved was excellent and far better than anything I have received in the UK. In fact,t I had a deep clean (or at least that's what I paid for) in the UK before I came over to Thailand. However, this dentist showed me the large amount of plaque around the tooth, which could not have built up in a matter of weeks, and an abscess. He cleaned the surrounding area, removed the tooth, removed the abscess and stitched it. The work was done and a follow-up was made for 7 days to remove the stitches. I was given antisceptic mouthwash and paracetamol. All this for about £60 GBP. Excellent service. When I move to Thailand later this year I will have no hesitation in signing up for this practice.

Superb care and good value as alwaysRalph, Thailand, 08 08 24

Last week I broke the filling behind one of my two front teeth. I went in to see Dr. Jitsuda and once again she expertly repaired the problem, which involved treating the adjoining tooth as well. In all it took a little over thirty minutes, required no pain reliever and now everything is as good as new. Her assistant was attentive and knowledgeable and I was kept informed by both throughout the procedure as to exactly what was going on. Superb care and good value as always.
