What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth coloured coverings also known as porcelain laminates used to cover the front of the tooth. They are placed to improve the appearance of smiles by changing the colour, length or size of teeth. The porcelain used to make the veneers is of a high quality and is generally long lasting.

What is the difference between Porcelain Veneers and Dental Crowns?

Porcelain veneers are only used to cosmetically correct the appearance of smiles. They only cover the front portion of the tooth. Dental crowns cover the entire tooth and are used to cover damaged teeth. Crowns are also placed over surgically inserted dental implants. Crowns are thicker than veneers. The patient’s tooth structure does not need much reduction for the placement of a porcelain veneer. A major portion of the tooth structure has to be reduced before the placement of a crown.

How long do Porcelain Veneers last?

Porcelain veneers last between 10 and 20 years. Patients need to follow the dental maintenance care instructions strictly to ensure that their porcelain veneers don’t wear out or chip. Porcelain veneers are the strongest and costliest type of veneer.

Is it painful getting Porcelain Veneers?

The dentist will administer a local anaesthetic before placing porcelain veneers. This is because the teeth of some patients are more sensitive than others. Since very little tooth structure is reduced for placing veneers, patients will not feel pain after veneers are placed. Some patients may feel a little soreness or sensitivity for a few days after the anaesthesia wears off.

Successful result of glaucoma treatment.Stuart, Wichian, Phetchabun 67130, 12 08 15

I went for narrow angle glaucoma laser treatment. The operation was painless, and the result successful. Am now in the post-operational stage and everything seems to be well. Left eye was the problem, but I had the laser treatment in both eyes as a future precaution. The clinic looked very clean and well organised. The staff were polite and efficient, and I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes for any procedure. I chose the clinic for its location and reviews I had looked at on the internet. It is only a few minutes' walk from the nearest BTS station.

All the dentists there were very kind, gentle and the facility is spotlessJeff, Thailand, 06 02 19

I found Kitcha clinic on this site so I thought I would write a review. I originally thought I needed veneers but they said you don't need veneers you just need a deep cleaning. This was very honest and nice because they could have just made a big sale. All the dentists there were very kind, gentle and the facility is spotless and brand new to western standards. I'm an American living in CM for 7 years, I've been to many dentists here and this one is the best. I will keep going and bring my wife (Thai) here as well. Thanks to all your staff for helping fix my teeth. Just one suggestion to the clinic and future patients: I made the mistake of having a snack after my treatment while my mouth was still numb. I bit my tongue and lip and cut them because I couldn't really feel it. Therefore I suggest to patients don't eat until after you're not numb anymore from novocaine. Maybe Kichca also advises people of that so they don't make the same mistake I did. Just a tip, overall Kitcha is the most gentle nice dentists I've been to in any country, 100% recommended.

Porcelain Veneers ฿10000 - ฿11000
Porcelain veneer or porcelain laminated veneers is a thin shell of porcelain / ceramic that is bonded onto the front surface of a tooth so to improve its cosmetic appearance. They will repair teeth that are discolored, worn down, chipped or broken, misaligned or irregularly shaped tooth. They are translucent, thin laminates made to improve the esthetics (shape, spacing, color) of your natural teeth, to correct crowding.Porcelain veneers = 11,000 Baht/ToothBut for 6 teeth = 10,000 Baht/Tooth

Dental veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer, composite and dental porcelain.Composite resin veneers = 2,000 Baht/ToothPorcelain veneers = 11,000 Baht/ToothBut for 6 teeth = 10,000 Baht/Tooth
Composite Veneers ฿2000
Composite resin veneers are a cheaper alternative to other types of veneers such as porcelain veneers. Advantages of composite resin veneers There are few benefits of this veneer. They are a good choice if you have a small crack or chip in a tooth as they will hide this nicely as well as protecting the rest of the tooth. Plus they are a good option for anyone on a budget. There are more disadvantages than advantages of this type of veneer. They may be cheaper but they are not as durable as other types of veneers which mean that they will have to be replaced more often. So, you may end up paying more than if you have purchased the porcelain veneers. Typically, a direct composite veneer lasts no more than 2 years. Plus they are more prone to staining or discolouration than other veneers. Their relative weakness means that they are more likely to break or fall off your tooth and they are not as natural looking as the other types of veneers. This is an important consideration if you are looking for a pearly white smile.Composite resin veneers = 2,000 Baht/Tooth
