What is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are artificial screws made of titanium or zirconium oxide that connect the jawbone and a dental restoration like a crown or denture. They are also called ‘endosseous’ implants or fixtures. They are an artificial tooth root. Once implanted, the implant integrates with the surrounding bone like part of the body. Dental surgeons perform bone grafting procedures to hold the implant in place for patients who do not have enough surrounding bone structure, or graft bone to help connect implants to the maxillary sinuses on either side of the nose when placing dental implants in the upper jaw.

How long does it take to fit a Dental Implant?

The time taken for inserting dental implants depends on the bone structure and needs of each individual patient. Some implant procedures take about 15 minutes while others may take up to two hours. Implant procedures are performed under local anaesthesia. Intravenous sedation is used for the comfort of anxious patients.

How long does it take to recover after getting a Dental Implant?

Recovery time after a dental implant procedure may take four to six weeks or up to 12 weeks for some patients. Patients can travel one day after the insertion of a single dental implant. Patients who require multiple dental implants or supporting surgical procedures should wait for around two weeks before travelling. They should meet the dental surgeon to get a certification of being fit to travel before embarking on their journey.

What should I do after getting a Dental Implant?

Patients should rest and avoid exertion after surgery. They should also avoid vigorously brushing their teeth or rinsing their mouth.

What are the alternatives to Dental Implants?

Alternatives to dental implants include fixed bridges and dentures.

At Dr. Sunil Dental Clinic, using state-of-the-art dental equipment and highly professional and experienced dentists, let us help you take care of your dental needs here in Bangkok, Thailand and Save Money!!Before dental implants, we were limited in how we were able to replace missing teeth. Options included fixed bridges, which often required the reduction of adjacent teeth to replace a missing tooth, or removable dentures. Implant dentistry allows us to replace individual teeth, without altering adjacent natural teeth. Dental implants help retain jawbone and anchor dentures, bridges and crowns firmly in place.A dental implant is a small “anchor”. It is inserted into the jawbone to take the place of your missing tooth root. A prosthetic replacement tooth is then secured to the top of the implant. Dental implants offer a more permanent solution for replacing lost teeth. The Benefits of Dental Implants: More healthful and beautifulWhen teeth are missing, the surrounding bone begins to shrink. This unhealthy bone loss can make your jaw line recede. Implant dentistry can help prevent deterioration of the jawbone caused by loss of teeth, so your face retains its natural shape. More ComfortableBecause dental implants are securely anchored, there is no slipping or movement as there is with dentures. This eliminates some of the key worries of dentures, including poor fit, gum irritation, and pain from exposed nerves.More ConfidentWith dental implants, you’ll never need to cover your mouth when laughing, smiling, or speaking. You can eat your favorite foods without pain or fear of embarrassment. You will look better, feel better, and live more confidently.Dental  Implant is a root form titanium screw-like prosthesis fixture that serves as a replacement for the

A Denture is a removable prosthesis used to replace missing teeth. It is usually made of acrylic or combination of acrylic and metal. A partial denture is fitted to replace some missing teeth, while a complete denture is indicated when all natural teeth are missing. A good set of denture done by a good prosthodontist will help patient to eat, speak, function and often makes the patient look younger and better. At Dr. Sunil Dental Clinic, any type of denture will take 3-4 visits not more than 5 days. New denture always feels strange when placed in the mouth. It usually takes 3-4 weeks to get used to but adaptation varies according to people. After denture is delivered to the patient, 1 or 2 check-up appointment is required to see if there is any discomforts or sore, minor adjustment will be done to make sure that patient is comfortable with the new set of denture.Patient with denture should start eating with soft foods and food cut into small pieces. In some patient with severe bone loss and denture does not have a good grip, denture adhesive can be used to make the denture more stable. Some patients might have gagging reflex and vomits with denture even after shorter the length of denture, then implant will be a better option.New denture many alter your speech initially. Pronouncing certain words many require practice. This problem rarely persists beyond 2 weeks. How to take care of your denture? Denture should be removed and cleaned after every meal with a soft brush. Hold the denture firmly while cleaning. Accidental drop-page may result in chipped or broken dentures. Soak the denture in denture cleanser once a week to remove stains and always rinse them before using them again.Always remove the denture before going to bed. This will allow the patient’s gum to rest and promote good oral health.Dentures are the cheapest option for tooth replacement in dentistry.

They very professional, no hidden costs, no trying to upsell services and they do what you ask forGregory, Christchurch, 26 08 18

Great clinic. The staff is very easy to talk to, they all fluent in English. This was not my first choice of dentist. I had originally been booked into Bumrungrad Dental Hospital, however, after just the consultation with 2 specialist dentists and costing 3500 baht, it was my first and the last time there! I had 5 crowns, 1 root canal, 3 first stage implants, night guard and a partial denture. This is now my favourite clinic in Bangkok. Over the years, I have been to many and have found only this one to be excellent. Smile Signature is what dentists should act like. They very professional, no hidden costs, no trying to upsell services and they do what you ask for. The appointments are very close to the times that are booked and its location is in a perfect area for someone like me that can easily get lost in an airport or train station. I guess the only negative is and it seems to be all Thailand dentists, is that the basic X-ray is not in the same room as where the dental chair is. Unlike in my country where you can do everything while laying in the dental chair. I think I've possibly got some nerve damage from the massive local injections to numb my gums down for the implants. Hopefully, it will come right over the next few months.

Truly excellent work & very good care & follow upMary, Australia, 09 11 16

I had a tooth extraction, bone graft & temporary denture to use while I heal - ready for an implant. Dr Pawak was excellent- both in the way he explained everything to me & the work that he has done. Truly excellent work & very good care & followup. I went online with a general enquiry about dental treatment in Chiangmai- (I've been to Thailand from Australia 4 times now to have substantial work done & been very happy) so this time- it seems the system has been improved & I had a number of responses - 2 from Vietnam & 2 from India & 2 from Bangkok & 2 from Chiangmai. I was most impressed with the thorough explanations & prompt communications from the Kitcha Clinic & decided on them on that basis. They were so accommodating & helpful.

The treatment has been very economical compared to Australian pricesKerry, Australia, 06 10 17

My husband and I have visited this clinic three times and have also taken a friend there. We have had fillings, dentures, crowns, whitening, cleaning and an implant. We have seen several of the dentists, including Dr. Sirinate and have found them all to be very professional, friendly and helpful. The treatment has been very economical compared to Australian prices. My husband researched dentists in Hua Hin as he wanted to combine his visit with some kiteboarding. He found S-smile clinic’s website the most helpful for overseas customers. His first impressions were good and hence we have returned again and again.
