Rating from 88 Reviews Now I'm twenty-four weeks pregnant.Nathalie, Malta, 18 Jul 16
Following years of trying to conceive, various IUI, failed IVF and also a natural pregnancy which ended at eight weeks, my husband and I decided to try IVF with egg donation abroad. After an extensive research online, we came across several fertility clinics; however, after reading all reviews, in July 2015, we decided to contact Praga Medica. Straightaway, we received a reply from Blanka, and from then on, we started our journey. We started with a Skype call with Dr. Alexander, who explained in detail the procedure, and from our end we asked a lot of questions which were patiently answered by him. Following that, we decided on November as the time we were to travel to Prague for our treatment. We chose the Egg Donation Optimum treatment. Blanka assisted with accommodation and also transportation, which really made our life easier in Prague. We spent a fortnight in Prague, during which we visited a lot of historical places and walked a lot around this beautiful city. We had to two visits at the Gest Clinic, one at the beginning and the second for the transfer. On the second visit, after the embryo transfer, I rested for an hour and then went back to the rented apartment where I rested for the day. Two days, later we went back home, waiting for the result, which unfortunately was negative. My husband and I decided to try for another fresh egg donation IVF, and after once again contacting Blanka, we were given another appointment for February of this year. This time round, things were easier, as we already knew what was going to happen. Although, once again we chose the Egg Donation Optimum, we opted also for the top package, meaning the PICSI, EmbryoGen, and Embryo Monitoring. Besides that, we also paid for the Assisted Hatching. We also opted for acupuncture, so Blanka arranged the appointments. On the day of the transfer, I started with the acupuncture, and then John the driver picked us up to go to the clinic. When we arrived, we were informed by the embryologist that two embryos were going to be transferred, whilst two other good quality embryos were to be frozen. As what happened in the previous IVF, after the transfer, I rested for an hour. However, this time round, we went back for another session of acupuncture. After that, we went to the apartment which we rented and rested for the evening. We travelled back home two days later. After waiting less than the recommended two-week wait, I decided to do a home pregnancy test, as my excitement and tension was too much for me. On March 1st, at 5:30am, I woke up to do the test, and after three minutes, it showed a negative result! I was heartbroken, and went back to bed. Half an hour later, I woke up to start getting ready for work and took another look at the pregnancy test. I started screaming and crying as I saw the second line! I was over the moon! Now I'm twenty-four weeks pregnant, and thank God, everything seems to be going well. At forty-six years of age, for my husband and I, getting pregnant is just a miracle. We cannot wait to meet our little angel who will be arriving at the last week of October. The clinic, although small, has the ideal setting and is very clean. At Gest Clinic, you're not just a number. They give you the full attention. With regards to our treatment, Blanka was there from the beginning to end to assist us and answered all the questions we had.
