What is Egg Donation?

Egg donation is the term used when one woman donates her eggs, for medical research, or to be implanted in another woman as part of an assisted reproduction procedure. The egg donor may be related or unrelated to the recipient. Once the donor has agreed to donate eggs, the eggs are retrieved from her ovaries through an ultrasound assisted surgical procedure. Egg donation supports IVF assisted reproductive procedures, especially for women whose eggs are of poor quality or for women who are too old to conceive.

How long does the Egg Donation procedure take?

While the actual egg retrieval process takes just a few minutes, the administrative and screening procedures for egg donation could take about a month. The procedure is performed under conscious sedation or mild anaesthesia.

What is the recovery time after Egg Donation?

The recovery time after egg donation is usually one month. The donor’s response to the post-ovarian stimulation medications will determine whether she can travel after the eggs are retrieved. This depends on each individual donor. The donor should travel only after the doctor certifies that she is fit to travel. It is important that the donor takes the prescribed post-operative medications correctly. The donor should not indulge in strenuous physical activity or sexual intercourse for a few days after egg donation.

We had IVF treatment with donor egg in 2017. Our 3 previous IVF (in Poland, with our eggs) were unsuccessful and very, very stressful. Preparations were painful too. We decided to choose this treatment. For good value in our opinion. I remember we had about 67% chances and if it's successful 25% for twins. We have twins now! Praga Medica offered us very friendly, personal consultant (Blanka), happy to talk to us anytime. The clinic was willing to help in accommodating too. The approach was decisive, I think. How much we can give you, how easy it is, etc. Everything seemed simple and it was. First visit - 1 night only. For the 2nd visit, we decided to stay in Prague for 8 days in the apartment (good value again). There's so much to do in this city to reduce the stress and have fun! We had treatment and nice holidays! Highest mark not because it was successful, but because they were: professional, friendly, understanding and helpful. They didn't fail in anything.

IVF serum is a beautiful serene place located in Athens.Greece. The doctors and staff are awesome, warm and inviting. The overall experience was pleasant. The stay in Greece is paradise. I, unfortunately, do not have a positive pregnancy outcome. I would say to those planning on doing this try to plan to stay abroad in the location until you hear the heartbeat if possible. I feel like that was my downfall. It is frustrating travelling home, especially if there is no support.

The restaurant serves freshly prepared meals and refreshments, you can book a massage in the wellness studio and the pharmacy is well stocked up with all prescription medication, vitamin supplements and various ranges of toaleteries and cosmetics Location of the clinic and the hotel under the same roof means that our medical professionals are within a close reach in case you need to contact them, also IVF patients can wait for their scheduled procedures, examinations and consultations in the comfort and privacy of their hotel room rather than waiting at the clinic’s reception room. The hotel rooms are conveniently located on the same floor as the operating theatre which means that after undergoing embryo transfer you can be transfered directly to your hotel room. Mr Dickinson Cowan brought my daughter into this world by C Section at The Portland Hospital back in 2005. I was extremely nervous but had the most comfortable and relaxed experience. He truly is a gentleman with a wonderful bedside manner and delivered my daughter safe and well. My aftercare was amazing. I had one to one midwife in a wonderful room with silver service. Cannot fault. I choose the Portland because I knew I would get fantastic care and worth every penny

Being emotionally stressed from the inability to conceive, the huge out of pocket cost for In vitro fertilization has only made it worse. We had three options: Get a loan for the IVF costs (get deeper in debt). Give up on having a child. Or… Search for alternative In vitro options. We focused on Mag’s home country – The Czech Republic. To our surprise we found that there are several private IVF clinics treating foreign patients for IVF and Donor Egg IVF for less. Already, we began to feel like we had options with In vitro – already we were closer to achieving our dream. We are thrilled to share with you that we found it. We came up with a way to make getting pregnant with IVF and egg donor IVF an affordable, pleasant and fun experience. How does shopping, sightseeing, spa treatments, massages, history and quality time alone, or with your close friends/family sound? All for as little as $4,700 for In vitro fertilization treatment. We believe that the decision to start a family with IVF should not be made more stressful by insurance companies dictating what we can and cannot do when it comes to fertility or IVF treatment.
