Intralock Implants

Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth, support bridges, support dentures, and eliminate the need for removable partial dentures. It is a good option for replacing one, or several teeth if the patient has good overall dental health and bone structure. A dental implant is attached only to the replacement tooth that it holds. This means that there is no need to have any natural tooth structure removed to fit a crown; the dental implant is secure without any support. A dental implant is a permanent replacement that looks and feels like your natural teeth, so there is no extra maintenance, or change in biting habits that are normally associated with partial dentures. Dental implants use material which the human body accepts, such as Titanium which is buried into the jaw bone. There will be a period of 3 – 6 months to allow the “ osseointegration” (fusing) process to take place between the bone and Titanium oxide on the surface of the dental implant. A crown is then place over thedental implant which is buried and affixed in the bone, thus allowing the secure fit for the dentures without affecting the bordering teeth.
