Ken works as an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, was with Pieta House, a suicide crisis intervention centre for 3 and a half years.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy brings in specific therapeutic models to work with specific Anxiety disorders and Depression. The main types of Anxiety dealt with are: OCD, GAD, Panic Disorder, Health Anxiety.
Ken’s integrative style combines the solution-focused counselling styles of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and RT/CT (Reality Therapy/Choice Theory) with the therapeutic sides of Mindfulness and Guided Imagery, to name a few. This cross-over between popular and successful styles of support in one’s mental health helps ground and guide their past, present and future. The combined, integrative style can adapt to work with each of us as unique individuals.
Ken facilitates workshops such as Mindfulness, CBT and seminars on his article 'Organic Super Computer Brains'.
Ken has been working in the mental health area for over 15 years, in this time he has worked as a National Supervisor of Childline, a Social Care Team Leader in Residential Care with adolescents and as a therapist with Pieta House.
