I went to Wendy when I have to have sleep issues and I found her approach was amazing. I felt so comfortable opening up and telling her honestly what was on my mind and I feel this was needed in order to get the help I needed and get my sleep back on track. Wendy is very professional and has an amazing ability to explain and give excellent advice. She is so good at what she does. My first visit I just felt so at ease and comfortable, the setting in the hotel is perfect. I would highly recommend Wendy to anyone that is going through a tough time personally, at work or whatever the issue may be, Wendy gave me skills that I have no doubt help me in my life going forward, thank you.

I arrived at Justine's office with severe anxiety. She gave me amazing tools how to handle it and reassured me instantly. I went only for six sessions with Justine but they have done absolute wonders for me. These strategies she provided me with will stay with me forever and I feel like a new person. My experience with Justine was fantastic. She is so calm, makes you feel comfortable talking about your fears and anxiety. I would highly recommend seeing Justine if you deal with anxiety. She has reduced mine from a 9/10 to a 3/4 within two months. You will gain a real understanding of anxiety and how to deal with it on an everyday basis. I will be forever thankful to her as I was not willing to take medication for it but I have it totally under control now, due to Justine.

I found relief nearly instantlyClaire, Ireland, 12 09 19

I was struggling with misophonia and was having trouble processing certain sounds and it got to a point where I couldn’t eat dinner with my family and was struggling to leave my room. I had read online that cognitive behavioural therapy had helped others with misophonia so I decided to give it a go. I booked an appointment with Renata and saw her the next day. Renata was extremely welcoming and very kind. Renata recommended some techniques for me to try to help distract me from the sounds that were bothering me and I found relief nearly instantly. Renata also helped me with any negative thoughts I was having and was very accepting and made me feel very comfortable.

I found his approach very respectful and full of insight at the same timeDomenico, Dublin, 20 09 18

I've contacted Marcello after having closed a treatment with another psychotherapist during 2017. I found here a non-judgemental place where step by step I could open myself and explain the reason/s that brought me to ask his help. I found his approach very respectful and full of insight at the same time. This gave me the opportunity to understand better my behaviour, what beliefs were limiting my social and private life. Now after almost 8 months I feel more confident in taking actions, less strict with myself and more open to experimenting my personal way to achieve my potential. With the conviction that getting better is mainly a process than a result and even sometimes I don't get what I want. I may always enjoy my path towards this progress, being less self-critical than I was before. I choose Dublin Psychotherapy mainly because as Italian I was looking for the same mother-tongue therapist.

She is extremely friendly, compassionate and genuinely caresJane, Ireland, 20 03 18

I have suffered with anxiety/depression since I was a child and I am now in my forties. Initially, I was told it was depression but in later years and my work with Carolyn, I discovered that I suffer more with anxiety. To anyone outside my inner circle of friends and family they would say I was a very happy, funny, outgoing person with not a care in the world, but alas behind closed doors things were different. Different things triggered my anxiety and on occasions leading to depression. I have a young family, working full time and last year everything got on top of me. I felt I could not do my work or look after my family. I was not sleeping, was panicky and crying constantly. I felt I could not breathe, I could not make a decision, it came to the stage I could not even write a shopping list without breaking down. I had heard a lot about CBT and when I went to Carolyn this is all I wanted but thankfully she knew best and introduced me to ACT and incorporated CBT in later sessions when I was ready for it. ACT for me was key to helping me as it allowed me to understand why I was so anxious but also how to look forward and what I wanted from the future. I have been to many a counseling session over the years so when I have crippled with anxiety again last year I did not want to try another counselor but my husband persuaded me after finding Carolyn's details online, reading client reviews and how their situations were similar to mine that I should contact her. I am so grateful I found Carolyn, my only regret is that I did not meet her sooner. She is extremely friendly, compassionate and genuinely cares. I still remember ringing Carolyn for the first time from my car outside work, she sensed my panic and upset and gave me so much time that morning, explaining her work and how she may help me. My initial sessions were talking through what was causing my immediate anxiety and Carolyn provided me with various techniques to assist with my anxiety on a daily basis and then throughout my sessions. Carolyn helped me recognize thought/thinking patterns that triggered and prolonged my anxiety allowing me to nip it before it consumed me. I still get anxious at times but thanks to Carolyn I can manage it and a bonus out of my ACT sessions with Carolyn is understanding my values. I use to laugh at this idea of values but I actually did not truly understand what it meant and how they provide direction and clarity for what you want in life. Thank you so much, Carolyn...

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy €70 - €90
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been the most widely researched therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that involves addressing a person’s problematic thinking styles and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Therefore, negative thoughts can cause us distress and result in problems. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to develop alternative viewpoints in order to tackle their problems. Developing alternative viewpoints is the cornerstone of the CBT principle that there is always more than one way of seeing things and therefore a person chooses their own viewpoint. This type of therapy has been found to be helpful in: AnxietyPanic attackDepressionAcrophobia and other phobiasSocial phobiasBulimiaObsessive compulsive disorderPost traumatic stress disorderStressRelationship problems When we change the way we think for the better, this in turn, contributes to how we view and react to situations around us. It also helps to bring new clarity of thought to help make better decisions for ourselves and others.
