  Biz Bio Gabby Punch is a general and psychiatric nurse with over 30 years experience in healthcare, health screening and community mental health with a keen interest in the whole area of emotional, nutritional and preventive medicine. She is a fully qualified Human Givens (HG) Psychotherapist with a Postgraduate Diploma from Nottingham Trent University as well as a Nutritional & Health Coach, awarded BTEC Level Three Advanced Diploma by The Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health. She is running her own private practice as a HG Psychotherapist and Nutritional & Health Coach.    She has worked with troubled teenagers in schools, in adult psychiatry and privately from her home in Bray using the principles of Human Givens therapy very effectively. if necessary she is also available for house calls.   Currently she is teaching at Marino College the first Mental Health course to be offered, using the Human Givens principles, along with Nutrition and Nursing Skills.  She is a member of the Human Givens Institute and is in regular demand for consultancy work, seminars and workshops, particularly in the area of emotional and nutritional health in community and business organisations. I am a fully qualified Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist and work with adult clients on a wide range of issues with a specialization in trauma recovery.  I trained at the Tivoli Institute in Dublin and did a 4 year professional training there. My work is client centred, sensitive to the differing needs of each individual client and privileges the integrity and genuineness of the therapeutic relationship as a principle factor in bringing about therapeutic change for the client.  In addition to trauma I have a particular interest in issues of low self esteem, depression and anxiety. bereavement and loss, difficulties in relationships, the impact of growing up in a family affected by addiction or mental health issues and how in all these areas living with greater ease and satisfaction can be supported. I am also a fully qualified Feldenkrais Practitioner - a somatic therapy and self-awareness enhancing approach - that is hugely helpful in reducing the impact of stress in the body. Where that is useful and helpful to my counselling / psychotherapy clients I integrate into my work with them an attention to body focused on reducing the cost in body stress of emotional overload or trauma and on improving overall physical well- being.        Before qualifying as a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist I worked for 12 years as a voluntary Bereavement Counsellor with  the Bereavement Counselling Service.
