Aisling Mc Govern Nolan - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Aisling Mc Govern Nolan

Rathfarnham, Dubin 16, Dublin
Counselling  enables you to process those emotions and feelings that are holding you back from living the life you deserve. It is my job as the therapist to hold you in the heart centred space  while you explore these emotions and feelings as you speak about your concerns. By gaining insight into  your emotions, behaviour and feelings you will feel more empowered  to make choices that are positive for your wellbeing. I find that clients often come to their  first few sessions feeling  anxious  and nervous about  what is going to happen  or indeed what to say. I assure each and every client that this is common and I therefore endeavour to put you at ease as much as possible. Every client's story is unique and everyone  is given the utmost freedom to express without judgment what is no longer working in their world My approach as a therapist is integrative and therefore unique to each clients needs. I pull from a range of therapeutic practices  which include CBT, Choice Therapy, Person Centred, Spiritual and Shamanism.  I look forward to joining you on your journey

Connecting Mindfully (counselling & psychotherapy) - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

When something in your life is not how you'd like it to be, or when you're looking for help and support for something that you're going through; perhaps a life event, a particular concern or maybe problems with relationships, at home, in school or at work. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of anxiety, frustration, fear, sadness or other emotions.  Stress can be a part of this.  Counselling can help you to better understand what might be going on for you, and to find ways to effectively manage feelings, thoughts or worries.  My experience is that clients come to counselling because they want something in their life to be different. I appreciate that it's often not easy to come to counselling. I welcome clients with warmth and openness, and a non-judgemental listening ear. I am a Person-Centred Therapist and I use ACT, CBT and Choice Theory to help clients work through an issue or to help them shine a new light on an area of their life that is not currently how they would like it to be. Sometimes what we need is to be listened to and heard.  Coming to see a therapist is a brave step towards getting support.  Allowing yourself to talk about and express what you are experiencing might be what you need at this time.  We often don't 'press pause' in our lives, we often don't give ourselves the time or space to check in with ourselves. It’s about finding the answers in myself, with the therapist helping you and guiding you thereMichael, Ireland, 03 07 20

I went to Sarah for short term talk therapy. Initially, I was nervous but I soon felt comfortable and free to talk about everything without fearing judgement or patronization. I wanted answers from someone, but in a short space of time, I learned that isn't what therapy is about. It’s about finding the answers in myself, with the therapist helping you and guiding you there. Thank you for everything.

Young adult Psychotherapy
What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological, emotional, or behavior disorders through the communications between the client and a therapist. The goal of therapy is to establish a central relationship of trust in which the client or patient can feel free to express personal thoughts and emotions and thus gain insight into his condition and generally share in the healing power of words. (Britannica) Will it work for me? Many people feel a great deal of benefit from psychotherapy, some even after comparatively few meetings. Like any other treatment or life experience, psychotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. Each individual has to make up their own mind about whether therapy is helpful for them. Clinical experience shows that if you are motivated and set yourself realistic goals, psychotherapy is likely to be of benefit. How long will it take? The length of treatment will be determined by what you are offered following assessment. How often are the sessions? Most psychotherapy is once weekly, although sometimes client’s circumstances won’t allow for this, so an alternative arrangement will be made. How long does each session last? Individual psychotherapy sessions normally last fifty minutes. How much does it cost? A one on one session costs E85.00. What benefit should I feel afterwards? Research has shown that psychotherapy is effective in reducing symptoms, improving relationships and self esteem. However, as each person is an individual it is difficult to generalize at the beginning as to which benefits a person may feel. The exploration and the journey is often as important as the goal. Does it usually work? A great deal of research has been done which shows C.B.T to be effective. However, it only works as a catalyst with the person undergoing treatment. This means that in order for therapy to be effective, the "work" is not done to you - but by you and with you.Can I stop if I feel its not working? It is always possible to leav
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.

I feel a significant improvement in these areasThomas, Ireland, 23 08 20

I have been seeing Renata for a number of months now for virtual therapy sessions for Anxiety and a rare form of OCD, I had seen a different therapist before I saw Renata however I was not making progress as ultimately I felt they did not fully understand my particular struggles with Anxiety/OCD. I immediately felt comfortable speaking to Renata, she is a very kind, compassionate and knowledgeable therapist who got to the root of my issues, we also began looking at other areas of my life that needed improvement. Solving Mental Health struggles can be like putting together a jigsaw, It takes time and consistency to improve your mental health and there may be things that are bothering you that you are not even conscious of but Renata was very intuitive and I felt she really understood my specific issues. From being at a point earlier in the year where I could not sleep and felt I was on the brink of falling apart my anxiety has significantly decreased and also my confidence in other areas of my life has greatly improved, Renata really got to work on my self-esteem and lack of confidence issues that bothered me for some time, I feel a significant improvement in these areas. If you are struggling with your mental health I cannot recommend a better therapist than Renata, her knowledge is vast, her kindness and compassion are sincere and genuine, she has really helped me and I am very thankful for that.

I work with a broad range of issues.  However I also specialise in LGBTQ+ and Gender, Sexual & Relationship Diversities (GSRD) therapy.  This means that I will provide full acceptance of who you are, regardless of how you identify. I view no person or issue as being more important than another. I see both of us working together as unique individuals.  I've seen how life can throw many different challenges which can cause us to question our sense of self. My aim is to help you find a better sense of who you are.  This is done in a safe & confidential space where you are listened to, heard and where you feel accepted for being yourself. What you bring, I feel we will be able to explore together, leading to greater self-acceptance & better inner peace Of course contacting a counsellor or therapist can feel daunting. I invite you to click on the link to my website, where you can learn a little about me and where you can see if you think I may be a good fit for you. If and when you are ready, feel free to get in touch, where we can have a brief chat and to see how I can help you on your well-being journey.
