I am very happy to recommend herMary, Ireland, 11 09 22

A friend of mine was talking about going to Evie so I said I’d give it a try. I am delighted I did. I don’t worry about food anymore and I feel good in my clothes. And I’ve lots more energy. I can’t see myself ever going back to my old ways. Her approach makes a lot of sense, it’s not just about food. I am very happy to recommend her.

Scully Counselling and Psychotherapy - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Scully Counselling and Psychotherapy

51 Main Street, Leixlip, W23 Y5N9
Hello, I’m Eimear Scully and I’ve been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in Leixlip village for almost 15 years. I have a depth of knowledge and experience in many areas including childhood trauma, attachment, co-dependency, adoption, relationships, difficult dynamics within family relationships, workplace issues, stress, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, depression, existential and transpersonal issues. I'm trained to be able to help you process whatever issue is troubling you. If you’ve been feeling stuck, confused or alone these feelings are more common than you may realise. It helps to understand, process and reframe the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that have brought you here and how we can work to resolve them together. I believe that each person is completely unique and will require an individual treatment approach. While I’m trained in person-centred integrative therapy, I also have extensive experience using mindfulness based approaches to build personal awareness and the life skills you will need to effectively deal with whatever arises in your life. Get in touch and together we can discuss what it is your hoping to achieve from therapy and we can build the positive conditions for the life you truly want to live.

Grateful to Megan for changing my life so dramatically.Amanda, Ireland, 18 07 19

I recently completed treatment with Megan for OCD and anxiety and I can’t recommend her highly enough. I came to a point in my life where the OCD made it almost impossible for me to cope. After two failed attempts at treatment with other therapists who genuinely tried to help me, but unfortunately did not have the specialized knowledge and skill that is essential in treating OCD, I found Megan. From that point, things began to get better very quickly. The treatment I received has changed my life completely. Now that I’m free of OCD I can finally enjoy my life to the fullest without a shred of worry about all the terrible things that could happen (but are extremely unlikely to!!) Of course, just like none OCD sufferers, I get intrusive thoughts from time to time, but I’m now able to dismiss them immediately and move on - they no longer have the hold on me that they once did. I am so grateful to Megan for changing my life so dramatically.

As a therapist I am guided by the needs and requirements of the person seeking help. I believe that the strength of therapy lies not in technique alone, but in the connection made between the person seeking help and the therapist who is capable of offering it. My counselling background includes working with those who have experienced trauma, and those suffering from anxiety or feelings of low mood.  I have also worked with adolescents as a Schools Counsellor, and am currently working with Pieta House supporting people who are in suicidal distress or engaging in self harm. My approach to counselling and therapy is Person Centred, respecting and encouraging the clients’ autonomy within the therapeutic process at all times. I will provide a confidential one to one relationship in a safe setting to develop the client’s self-awareness, assisting them in finding their own way through their difficulties. I welcome those seeking help, working with teenagers, adults, couples and families. I have experience with a broad range of personal concerns including; depression, suicidal thoughts and self harm, anxiety and panic attacks, stress, relationship difficulties, sexual, physical and emotional abuse and personal development. My qualifications include: BA (Hons);  Dip Counselling/Psychotherapy;  Higher Dip in Conflict Resolution and Mediation;  Cert. Family Therapy, Cert CBT. I look forward to welcoming new clients to my established practice

Kildare accessible in both County Kildare and Offaly, Niamh aims to provide clients with time and a listening ear to explore their past and present wounds to begin to heal their own relationship with self. As well as offering support in the areas of depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, Niamh has extensive experience in supporting clients through the complex nature of abusive relationships and the emotional and psychological trauma that can come with it.
