Alfred Podhorodecki is a certified clinical hypnotherapist and forensic psychophysiologist. He is also a forensic hypnotist, educationalist, victimologist, criminologist, and counsellor. His main interests are forensic hypnotherapy for family law, civil process and criminal law. Alfred has over 30 years of law enforcement experience including the Transit Police, Military Police and as a Research Analyst in the Victoria Police. He is the former Deputy Head of Department of Police Studies at Monash University, and has lectured in Policing, Security Management, & Justice Studies at various universities including RMIT, Melbourne University and Monash University. Alfred has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Management; he holds a Master’s Degree in Education, a Graduate Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Arts Degree, and diplomas in security management, justice studies, and police studies as well as certificates in Business Administration in Workplace Assessment and Training and Forensic Hypnosis. He is a graduate of the Australian Hypnotherapy Training and Counselling school and is a qualified counsellor, investigator, trainer and forensic hypnotist and investigator. He qualified in Forensic Hypnosis at Houston University, Texas USA and in Forensic Psychophysiology at the Maryland Institute of Justice in Maryland USA.

He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and completed his General Surgery Specialization training in Ankara Oncology Training and Research Hospital in 2006. In 2010, he started to work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Surgery at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, and in 2015, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor of General Surgery by successfully passing the exam held by the inter-university board. He accompanied or performed more than 2500 advanced laparoscopic bariatric and metabolic surgery, laparoscopic cancer surgery, breast and thyroid cancer surgery operations between 2010-2015. Since 2018, he has been working at Istanbul Private Etiler Hospital under the Metabolic Surgery Foundation and started working with Prof. Dr. Alper Çelik. In this process, he accompanied more than 2000 advanced laparoscopic metabolic and bariatric surgery operations, and performed more than 3000 operations.
