So far the service has been outstanding. Please note that i have not underwent the surgery yet, due to COVID19 restrictions. However, as soon as i registered interest i was called by Cat, and given all the information necessary. Dr Sutton then took the time to have a lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of different WLS options, answering any and all of my queries. The rest of the team have all made contact, and what i have most liked so far is the transparency and simplified documents supplied, to help me understand each element of the procedure, pre and post-op. It is a very nice feeling to know that there is a group of people who are available and welcome any questions you may have, especially when it is such a major life change. I actually had my heart set on a different clinic, but decided to shop around, and Tonic's professionalism (plus value) swayed me.

Consultations should only be given by one person, a highly experiencedsurgeon who is the only one capable of determining whether you are a suitablecandidate for the surgery that you are asking for.  Counsellors, or nursing, irrespective oftheir experience are not licensed to operate and although they may assist withsimple explanations, you should not allow yourself to be placed in a situationwhere they advise surgery. At theconsultation you will not find counsellors. All consultations are carried outby highly trained Cosmetic GMC Registered Surgeons. We do not charge for Consultations. A very high degree of knowledge and skill is required for awell-balanced opinion about the necessity for the operation in which you may beinterested.  You must appreciate thateven when the advice is not in favour of surgery, it comes from a highlyqualified person who has given his time, attention and experience to yourproblem, consulting, both pre and post-operatively accounts for over 50 percent of surgeons times and good ones do not give this time away.  Neither will they tell you that you needsurgery when you don’t. Surgeons build reputation not only by the work they carry out, but thework they decline.

The size of your stomach is reduced using a band so that only small meals can be eaten and you feel fuller sooner.Most patients will go home the day after their operation.Your surgeon will explain the benefits and risks of having a gastric band fitted, and will also discuss the alternatives to the operation. It is important to remember that your care may be different from how it is described here because it is adapted to meet your individual needs.We have learned that many potential problems after the surgery are related to the diet and most can be avoided byfollowing some simple rules.

The gastric sleeve is the latest weight loss procedure that shows promising results. By restricting food absorbtion and reducing hunger the gastric sleeve might be your best option. Advantages of gastric sleeve include lower cost, less dumping, fewer complications and does not require adjustments after the initial surgery. How does the Gastric Sleeve work? The vertical sleeve gastrectomy is a restrictive form of weight loss surgery in which approximately 85% of the stomach is removed leaving a cylindrical or sleeve shaped stomach with a capacity ranging from about 60 to 150 cc, depending upon the surgeon performing the procedure.

Having developed high blood pressure at an early age of 23 and having lots of tests carried out with no real answers, I began to question my weight. A few years passed after trying various different well-known diets and failed miserably. I gained more weight if anything! I came across Mr Hamouda after a recommendation from a close family member who has also had a sleeve operation - losing close to 8st in under a year, she has also maintained this weight for nearly 18 months. On my initial consultation with Hamouda, I felt at ease and was able to disclose any personal issues relating to eating disorders. My wife and my 8-month-old child were all welcome. He likes to invite close family members to your appointments as he likes you to have support from your loved ones, I thought that he would find my child annoying throughout the consultation but Dr Hamouda was the complete opposite. Once I was accepted for my sleeve operation I was put under the careful care of he's team who were all brilliant at every stage. The support was there for me before, during and now after my operation. The care at Benenden was outstanding, treated like a king in his own hotel room! 1-1 care, nothing was a problem and would recommend this hospital for anyone thinking of weight loss surgery. Since my operation just over a year ago I have lost nearly 9st. Without a sleeve operation, this would never of happen. My BMI has dropped by 15 and has lost over 60 inches around my whole body. If anyone for some reason is questioning Dr Hamouda or weight loss surgery then don’t! Dr Hamouda not only changed my life but allowed me to start living it again. In the words of my wife, “ he’s like a new man now “ This just leaves me to say THANK YOU! You are an outstanding consultant and a genuine hero of mine.
