Kinship - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Kinship

13 Pembroke Street Lower,, Dublin 2
Kinship provides a safe, confidential space where difficulties can be explored in the presence of another—one who offers support and space as you work to become more of your authentic self.Areas of focus include: Depression, anxiety, stress, workplace performance, relationship challenges, transitions, chronic illness, trauma, sexuality, sexual abuse, finding meaning, and more. Some people may begin psychotherapy without a specific problem or issue, but instead with the intention of personal development and achieving their potential. At times we may feel confused, lost, overwhelmed, or dissatisfied for a time before we decide to seek help. It takes courage to ask for support. We encourage the development of effective problem-solving skills to help individuals reach their true potential and begin the process of self-awareness, acceptance, and change. We believe that no two people are exactly alike, which means treatments are tailored to the individual through a Humanistic Integrative Approach. Our therapists use evidence-based methods and are trained to a Master's level. We attend regular supervision in order maintain the highest standard of care.

“There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” — Leonard Cohen It’s not always easy to ask for help. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin — and that’s okay. Therapy doesn’t ask you to have it all figured out. It offers a space where the noise can soften and something steadier can begin to take shape. Welcome to Crystallise Psychotherapy® — a calm, inclusive space for thoughtful, trauma-informed therapy. I’m Owen Smith (he/him), an accredited humanistic and integrative psychotherapist and CORU-registered social worker. I offer online and in-person therapy to adults across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, working with individuals, couples, and multi-partnered relationships. Clients come to therapy for many different reasons - relationship issues, anxiety, shame, grief, infidelity, identity questions, out of control or compulsive sexual behaviour (CSB), or a sense that something just isn’t quite right. You don’t need to arrive with it all figured out. You’re welcome just as you are. My approach is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and trauma-informed. I work relationally, with a focus on safety, emotional depth, and collaborative exploration. Whether you're navigating complex relationship dynamics, exploring parts of your identity, or working through something painful from the past, therapy can offer a steady and respectful space to begin loosening the weight of what’s been carried. I draw from a range of approaches in

Individual Psychotherapy €90 - €120
Personal therapy is a way in which an individual can address any issue in their lives that is causing them distress. Each person, in their own unique way, has the potential to overcome their present difficulties. Working regularly with a trained therapist in a safe and non judgmental environment can provide a setting in which someone  can engage constructively with their struggle and discover a more creative way of living with less emotional baggage to hold them back.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy €70 - €90
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been the most widely researched therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that involves addressing a person’s problematic thinking styles and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Therefore, negative thoughts can cause us distress and result in problems. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to develop alternative viewpoints in order to tackle their problems. Developing alternative viewpoints is the cornerstone of the CBT principle that there is always more than one way of seeing things and therefore a person chooses their own viewpoint. This type of therapy has been found to be helpful in: AnxietyPanic attackDepressionAcrophobia and other phobiasSocial phobiasBulimiaObsessive compulsive disorderPost traumatic stress disorderStressRelationship problems When we change the way we think for the better, this in turn, contributes to how we view and react to situations around us. It also helps to bring new clarity of thought to help make better decisions for ourselves and others.
